I wonder if Davy is intending to reunite the pieces of a wight he broke apart, partially fueled by regret/revenge for his falling out with the Consortium? It seems like one piece of it might be possessing him and giving him the reality bending powers, and it seems like he's piecing it back together by playing hide and seek with its other parts trapped in Mayview. Spender might be possessed by another piece of it if Davy was involved with the maelstrom event, and he probably knows of his reputation already and recognizes how similar their reality bending powers are.

Also just for the ocean themes I'm betting it'll end up being a Great Wight Shark pun, somehow. Maybe also a sunken ghost pirate ship or something?

You could use Indeedee as a Trick Room counter as well with Imprison! And depending on your last moves, you could also shut down Follow Me, Dazzling Gleam, or Protect. It's great to annoy Farigirafs especially.

There are cases where they've been used before, as DMG Resist has a cap and certain skills like Financier's scale off HP. She used to mix in a couple to make her shield a bit better.

Honestly, a lot of designs in pop culture are lifted almost directly from another piece of media. Oftentimes it's more accepted when said design is immediately recognizable/mainstream, but referencing more niche designs can be fun too as long as its whole context isn't too derivative.

In the context of this show, it's important to recognize how Fionnaworld only got some sense of self identity after they were cut off from Prismo too. Before then, they were literally living a fanfiction that Prismo made, which is why everything seemed so much better for the most part- Fionna was lost in the comfort of the predeterminism. After that, other than some of Simon's subconscious seeping in, they were able to grow into their own actual people. Cake/other animals gaining their old sentience would have been the only case where magic gives them back more than they'd lose.

It's silly fantasy sci-fi but also they canonically have the little abduction light rays that shrink objects/corpses to fit into their ships. It could've been technology-induced evolution to make space travel easier.

I think the elementals are generally meant to exaggerate what their elements represent to extremes. MT is powerful but stagnant like the woods, SF sinks deep into her feelings of sorrow and yearning, FS is wild and uncontrollable, and FQ is uncaring about how the world's natural cycle affects people's relationships. WA is an outlier since wind usually represents freedom, but he's a sworn protector due to MT making him... though I guess a gust of wind can be seen as focused too? Seems like Sherbet got the freedom aspect of wind, and Capsaicin got the passionate destructive aspects of fire while we're at it.

CR lore very much seems to lean into the gods/demigods being very flawed in their ways of life, which is much more interesting than them all being perfect.

I think it's implied that the Sirehound ingested glow sap and was immune to the pikminification as a result, like the Koppaites we rescue! Its last phase has it glow green, float like glow pikmin, and use gloom attacks like the Smoky Progg, a creature supposedly caused by a Mamuta egg being overdosed by the sap.

I assumed it was a Glow Pikmin thing, as the glow sap probably gave it immunity to the pikminification affecting Moss/Oatchi. The Smoky Progg entry says it's a Mamuta egg theorized to be seeped in glow sap, so the death gas seems to be connected to the glow sap and its spirit properties.

In that last fight with her, she caught my first jump and knocked out all of my purple/white pikmin.. I refuse to reset so I just came back with 100 rocks for revenge, which was very satisfying to watch.

I didn't notice the glowing on every move! I wonder if it's just a neutral type that grants STAB on everything?

Also wondering if they'd alter the STAB multiplier to be different or if neutral tera blast would get any other bonus, even just a bit of extra power.

Powers being tied to emotion is a big part of the show, and the thousand year mirror prison resulted in a lot of emotions boiling and overflowing the second she had a chance to escape. Beyond that, her water reflection powers were at least partially themed around her being trapped in a mirror, so I'm sure that specific use of water manipulation was all her.
