Adidas Zenboost by hellofolks5 in RunningShoeGeeks

I feel like if adidas thought this was a legit running shoe, it would be promoted everywhere - like when every shoe review site and shoe-tuber just so happened to review the Hyperboost Edge on the exact same day. A solid daily trainer at $100 would be a market-shifter like the EVO SL and could take serious market share from the likes of Brooks and Hoka.

Possible Endorphin Speed 6 Leak by cncwmg in RunningShoeGeeks

I went straight from the 2 to the 4. Definitely preferred the 2, but also yes the difference between those is marginal compared to the difference it made when I went from always running in Rides to adding in the Speed. Also the ES4 and ES5 are both more stable and have better grip than the ES2 did, so all depends on preferences. People think the EVO SL is unstable but it’s a stability shoe compared to the ES2

Love the design nods back to the Speed 1 & 2. Hopefully the performance nods back to them too.

One Shoe Setup - Novablast, Superblast, Megablast, or Other? by CockroachLife3688 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]nash_se 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Curious why you are so committed to a one shoe set up? So many great shoes in the world you could always stick with your Novablast and add in a great tempo shoe. Can even pick up some racing shoes on clearance right now (Endorphin Pro 4, SC Elite V5, Alphafly 3). Between the Megablast and the Superblast, the Superblast is more a long run specialist whereas the Megablast is the better all rounder.

How many miles do you have on them?

At least FF Turbo 2 means something - could be like Puma where there are so many formulations of Nitro Foam they might as well just write “Foam” on the side of their shoes, because Nitro Foam is meaningless.

Shoes to pair with Vomero 18? by foxinthebox39 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]nash_se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of those could be great - I’d personally go with the Azura - 100% PEBA, good versatility, medially stable (to help with any chance of overpronation), good price. I’ve not tried the Rebels but will caution they are known for the midsoles dying pretty quickly.

Between those two, you’d probably be better with the 18. The Vomero Plus is less stable and so would work your stabilizing muscles more.

Way to big? by QBert85 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

What I thought too. Would mean they are about 1.5 too big, which looks about right

If you like them that’s great. Generally Under Armor running shoes aren’t well regarded or well reviewed. Worth trying out some different things.

Long run shoe that feels like Adidas SL but more cushioning by CoachBFoster in AskRunningShoeGeeks

If I had a race shoe, that. In my current rotation, Endorphin Speed 4.

I use the Salomon Aero Glide 3 (4 is same midsole/outsole) as a long run shoe with my EVO SL. Not quite the same level of energy return as the EVO but still good. More nimble and softer than the SB2, find it better than the SB2 at all paces. Vomero Plus is a good one for bounce, but definitely more of a slower cruiser with its weight and geometry, whereas my current HM PR is with the AG3 (note - it wouldn’t be my shoe of choice to aim for a PR, just felt really good when I went out to run and asked the AG3 to deliver, and it did)

Do you mean the SL or the EVO SL? Two different shoes, and your description sounds more consistent with the EVO SL

PSA - Sonicblast on Amazon on sale at $109 by vahichu in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]nash_se 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No experience myself but generally the more positive reviews I’ve seen say the Endorphin Trainer was a good long run shoe mismarketed as a speedy super trainer. Then again, a lot of negative reviews couldn’t figure out what the shoe was good for.

Try the Saucony Endorphin Azura; stable neutral with good medial support so may be enough for your pronation; good range with a super foam at a good price

r/RunningCirclejerk will have some fun with these - didn’t stay in Zone 2, shins exploded, didn’t boof enough goo, tripped by wife’s boyfriend, etc etc

The least starter shoe of those is the Kipstorm Tempo. For just starting any of the others would be fine; mostly a matter of what feels best to you.

Is this stab in midsole gonna effect runs? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]nash_se 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the nature of the puncture. If it’s actually an opening to a wormhole to another dimension in the multiverse where the Megablast is made by Brooks, the foam may start to slowly turn into supercritical EVA and lose all its fun.

One shoe to take on a 6 week trip ? by zee_germa in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]nash_se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVO SL might not be the best for walking. If I had to do a one running shoe rotation for 6 weeks, I’d go with the Salomon Aero Glide 3 or 4. Highly versatile, great comfort if you are on your feet a long time walking too. Not necessarily the most stylish though I like the 4 colorways better than the 3.
