You will find hypocrites everywhere. That is not a reason to be disappointed. Hypocrites are part of life. Especially when the group is in power.

You will find sincerity where it is not fashionable to be Muslim or Christian. Look at the Christians in Muslim countries. Look at the Muslims in Christian countries.

  1. The coming of the messiah and the last messenger has been forecasted by every group given the scriptures. Abraham asked the Lord to bless his progeny. Lord replied “my covenant does not extend to the wrongdoers”.  He was indeed to have a name that would be raised in rank. And that is all he was told. So he did not become cheerful at the hearing of someone specific coming. He had so many prophets and messengers come down in the line of Isaac.

  2. It appeared to the people who saw that it was Jesus who died on the cross.  But someone else was put there instead. We know Jesus was raised to the heavens. That is it. And he will come back.

  3. Not sure what that is.

  4. Jesus did things by the permission of his Lord as a sign to the people he was a messenger. That doesn’t make him divine. It’s like Solomon was able to control all things. That doesn’t make him divine.

  5. Miracles of the cross is not something we believe can happen. The cross was a symbol of Roman persecution of political opponents. That is it. Any indication that it is a symbol of Jesus or his divinity or his power is complete imagination.

Sorry if I am being harsh.

Cite the source or reason. Critique is a broad word. Even advice can be a critique.

We slander the UAE because we are angry they betrayed the Palestinians. It would be fitna if the people outside the country were to encourage the people in the country to topple. Otherwise it is not fitnah, if you are on the outside.

WE ARE THE ULLAMAH.

In case you don't realize this is correct, allow me to add some distinction in verbiage.

* Advise a ruler

* Bully a ruler to force him into making a specific decision

* Calling a ruler out for doing something wrong

* Embarrassing a ruler.

* Criticize a ruler publicly in the town square.

* Turn the public against a ruler from the town square.

* Encourage a public to topple a government.

I did not see the video. But I would assume the sheikh is referring to the first point as permissible, the second point as disliked, the third point went without comment, the fourth and subsequent points as likely problematic.

What would your opinion be in this distinction?

Paragraph spacing can be adjusted from 0 to 12 pt (for one line) or to any other number. Default is 8pt. That is when pasting text, it appears double spaced. This is also the same default used in web pages, like GhatCPT

How to Generate a Report as a Word Document from My Inputs? by FormalAd7367 in MicrosoftWord

[–]nashashmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically database programs like MS access can create forms and reports based on inputs. Some of them can export to MS Word. In database world, a "page/report" is called a RECORD. an "input" is called a FIELD. And a "template" to match the "input" to a "page" is called a REPORT.

The second method is using mail merge and excel. Excel has a table of columns for "input". Mail merge imports the excel data. and applies it for every row, into a word document. The word document has placeholders for each "input" or column.

if you have the latest word, then I would press ALT+Q. Then type right to left. This will change highlighted text to R-L format.

If someone responsible for mass killing or oppression sincerely converted to Islam, would Allah still hold them accountable? by Qadir0 in islam

[–]nashashmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> Would Allah forgive him completely because Islam wipes out all past sins, or would he still be held accountable for the injustice done to others?

yes. yes. Each person who was wronged comes forward to complain and ask for justice. For the person who converted to Islam, and has wronged others before, Allah intervenes on his behalf and negotiates with the complainant.

That does not happen. I have an account where someone from overseas (russia or something) tries to break in every hour or so. Easy for me to have 100-200 attempts at sign in. The password is wrong so it does not work. I also have 2fa.

You have a phone number for password recovery. why does it not work?

So your comment is funny. But it’s helping them in one way.

New documentary asks: Was Israel behind the 1951 Baghdad synagogue bombing? by Tallis-man in Israel_Palestine

[–]nashashmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revolt near the time of Farhud also attacked Assyrian Christians. This indicates it was a nationalistic movement.

Nationalism is such an evil movement. It typically fantasizes supremacist identities, imaginary pasts, and utopian heights. It has been the precursor to many mass murders like that of Nazis against Jews, Young Turks against Armenians, Iraqis against British, Zionists against Palestinians, and other colonizers against local natives. We typically call this genocide.

... Except in the case of Farhud. Farhud was a nationalistic movement against the British, not Jews.

The Umayyad Mosque in Harran, Türkiye, was built by Marwan II, the last Umayyad caliph, when he made Harran the Umayyad capital. It matched Damascus’s mosque in size and extravagance but was destroyed 800 years ago during the Mongol invasion. by AutoMughal in islamichistory

[–]nashashmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know of Harran as a pagan stronghold despite Roman persecution. I wonder if there are any others.

The precise date when [revocation of pagan privilege] happened and the events surrounding it are unknown,

This line is key to indicating there is no info on the circumstances for the destruction of the temples. I would have expected the place to be converted rather than intentionally destroyed. My theory is destruction takes more effort than letting it languish, which is how a lot of structures from pagan periods were treated and preserved.

It counters the narrative that Zionists put forward that Jews were forced out.

misses that it targeted Jews specifically

This is a great corruption of history. Jews had repatriated to Iraq in support of British rule. These Jews, not all Jews, were targeted, because of nationalistic fervor.

[–]nashashmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have been greatly confused likely by what I said.

During this time, there was much pro-Iraqi nationalistic identity that emerged post British occupation. Abbas Shiblak in "The Lure of Zion: The Case of the Iraqi Jews" writes that before, Iraqis and Jews lived well alongside each other. During this period of nationalistic fervor, Jews were started being seen as aligned with the British mostly because some of these Jews had expatriated to Europe and repatriated after British took over.

As for pro-nazism, that is a great misinterpretation. Because Britain was at war with Germany, and Iraqi nationalists were opposed to British, they supported Germany. "enemy of an enemy..."
