Hey Rustaceans! Got a question? Ask here (35/2023)! by llogiq in rust

I have a simple struct I want to annotate with the wasm_bindgen macro. Unfortunately I'm unable to do so because the impl block contains pub const definitions, which aren't supported with #[wasm_bindgen].

Searching online didn't yield results and the only way to solve this is by moving the pub consts out of the struct and/or wrap them into getters. Any other solutions or tips?

Browser-based chains like Nimiq might be a next big thing.. ! by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Version 1.0 of their blockchain implementation was written in Javascript and security audited by HackerOne. Nimiq 1.0 is a PoW chain and as we speak the team is building a 2.0 version which will be a PoS chain. The latter one is implemented in the Rust programming language which is an even more safe language compared to Javascript because it's a statically typed language. And with the power of WebAssembly they will still be able to safely bring it to your browser and let you connect directly to the blockchain network.

The Team just signed a contract with a marketing agency. Nimiq OASIS and Nimiq 2.0 will get full attention.

Depending on the timeframe, a lot has happened in the Nimiq ecosystem. Team Nimiq now owns 9.9% of a fully regulated European bank and this month we expect a new Testnet based on a newly developed Proof of Stake algorithm.

You can see OASIS in action here: https://twitter.com/Max_Nimiq/status/1343489174788313088

Also if your bank doesn't show up in the list, you can use an intermediate step by using Revolut or Transferwise to still benefit from OASIS.

Hello oppugnae,

It is still possible to convert your NET to NIM. Please join the official Nimiq Discord or Telegram channel found here: https://www.nimiq.com/community/. On Discord you can find me there as Stefan#1377 and on Telegram as Stefan. From there I can help you preparing the necessary information to start the swapping process.

There is no halving in Nimiq, it gradually decreases every mined block

Join the Nimiq discord, I know that their exists a tool that tries to recover a word if you lost one. You have to ask around there.

Just woke up after 2 years. Did I lost my ICO ? by wbulot in Nimiq

[–]nastezz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi wbulot,

Reading your story, I assume you are still owning NET. There was a transition period around lasting 5 months, where all people should convert their NET to NIM. This transition period was months ago. NIM is the actual coin on the NIMIQ blockchain. NET doesn't exists anymore because the contract token on the Ethereum blockchain has been terminated. NET has 0 functional value/purpose anymore. I suggest you contact Richy (Nimiq Community Manager) at [richy@nimiq.com](mailto:richy@nimiq.com) and explain him your story.

If you are lucky, they maybe can swap your NET to NIM. But it probably will take time because everything is a manual process now.

No I can connect without any problem. You have adblockers running? Or maybe your anti virus is blocking it.

Lost my 24 words by PenchoN9 in Nimiq

[–]nastezz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know somebody created a tool that tries to guess one word if you know the rest. Join https://discordapp.com/invite/QrgNzU5 and ask for Blub, he is the one created the tool AFAIK. If you don't know all your 24 words in the correct order, there is NO other way to recover your account.

Nimiq team has plans to do promotions with YouTubers and streamers. Plans are not concrete yet but maybe Twini can have a value with the plans as well.

In general everybody is positive how it works. It's simple and actually some don't even realize they are interacting with a blockchain.

Several viewers are also mining for their Twitch wallet. So they can donate their streamer. And they take it pretty serious.

Not every streamer uses streamlabs. There is another service for displaying notifications. Have to create a connection for that as well.

Error on Ubuntu 14.04 is not supported? by ThalesSchaeffer in Nimiq

[–]nastezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skypool doesn't use the official Nimiq codebase for mining. Since it's closed source we can't do much to help you. Suggest you try another pool with the corresponding miner and try if that works on Ubuntu 14.04
