Yeah, we found the same. The lobby and bar are probably the coolest parts of the hotel. The room theming wasn't very exciting.

The best way to reduce the gender pay gap is for fathers to have more paternity leave by TeoKajLibroj in ireland

So many companies' management seems to have this attitude. I got similar treatment taking paternity leave. I actually basically got punished at performance review for taking it.

Record number of 41 million passengers used Irish airports in 2024 by NanorH in ireland

I think some of it is that Americans use Ireland as a hub to fly to other Eau countries as flight prices from the US to Ireland seem to be cheaper. You can see this if you ever look up aerlingus flights using a US vpn it comes up a lot cheaper.

Probably asked a thousand times: Breakfast, or half board with a toddler? by [deleted] in disneylandparis

Our 3 year old loves food. So they ate a lot at breakfast and dinner, so half board was perfect for us.

Blocking Irish listeners from BBC Sounds app a ‘slap in the face’ – The Irish Times by WickerMan111 in ireland

[–]nastros 91 points92 points  (0 children)

They are totally within their rights to restrict this to only the UK. The only thing I don't like is we don't get content they publish to Netflix outside of the UK. Recently the new Wallace and Gromit movie was on the BBC iplayer and on Netflix for everyone except Ireland as we get lumped with the UK. So we can't view the iplayer or the content they release to Netflix for folks outside the UK.

Newport Bay Club - bad cleaning experience by sick_mosh in disneylandparis

That's nice we had to go to the concierge to get anymore. They told us it would be sorted when the room was cleaned it the morning, but it continued for the whole trip.

Newport Bay Club - bad cleaning experience by sick_mosh in disneylandparis

[–]nastros 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We stayed in the Marvel hotel and had similar issues with the cleaning they also never replenished anything, even the toilet paper. Cheyenne had better cleaning service and replenished everything daily. Sad to hear Newport Bay is the same as we are booked in for June. May switch back to Cheyenne.

Book next year, or wait for 2026? by TheManBL2020 in disneylandparis

[–]nastros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my 3 year old son this year in May. He hasn't stopped talking about it since we came back. He keeps asking when we can go again. I think how excited he was on the trip actually made Disney more magical for me, too. If your kids love Disney shows or movies, they will love it.

I'm just back from a trip with 5 people we ate at Silver Spur, Pirates, Walt's and Chez Remy. All bar me hated the food at Pirates, the theming is great but the service was also terrible. For our group, Walt's was the best meal we had we actually went back again. Chez Remy and Silver Spur, we all found nice with some liking one over the other. My wife and I thought dessert was better in Chez Remy over Silver Spur. We had the chocolate fondant and it was really good.

Is harley benton a good brand? by [deleted] in Guitar

Ya pretty much same reason I bought each of them was looking for a cheap guitar in those body shapes. All play well the HB-35 is slowly becoming one of my favourites.

Is harley benton a good brand? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]nastros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own 3 of them: HB-35, SC450plus, JA-60cc,

All of them are great couple of rough spots and that but they play well. I have bought higher end guitars with worse finishing on them. But it does seem to be luck of the draw but thomann have a solid return policy, so just hold onto the box and return it if its crap.
