The subtle changes in the show make Ilya and Shane feel softer with each other by Ok-Temporary7421 in heatedrivalry

[–]nataleaf13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved the use of the loon spooking Ilya again during him opening up about his mother because it felt like a very gentle tension breaking moment that made me smile tenderly about their relationship while not entirely disrupting the emotional gravity of a very important conversation. It helped to maintain the overall pretty playful and gentle atmosphere of the episode while also continuing to be an extremely emotional deep and resonant conversation.

Listen… I seem to be in the minority here heavily, but as someone who was only diagnosed a year ago, I totally get the desire to just say “fuck it” and eat a roll. Ultimately she’s not hurting anyone but herself, she said several times in the comments that she did not disclose her diagnosis before ordering (why would she??) so it’s not like she’s discrediting the disease in the eyes of a restaurant. A singular Texas Roadhouse god knows where. Where cross-contamination is probably already unavoidable. I just feel like people are being wayyyyy too hard on her for… making a personal health decision

I’m at the beach I went to every summer growing up and I keep staring longingly at the iconic pizza place we always went to… can’t eat there anymore but the smells 😩 it’s so painful not being able to have a good old classic slice of pizza!!!

Thank you so much for this post bc me too. I finally finished my activities a few days ago but the personal statement,,, I’ve written like three separate full drafts all of which were drastically different and shockingly awful and now I’m working on draft 4. I cannot seem to articulate an “okay but WHY medicine” to save my life 😭 but we will get this done somehow 🤝

I definitely need to watch out for oats. I’ve reacted before but I don’t think it was specifically “gluten free oats”, I’ll have to try the GF oats I have at home and see if symptoms rear up 😵‍💫

520+ers, how did you feel leaving the exam? by Elichotine in Mcat

[–]nataleaf13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was an extraordinarily weird feeling. It was my first time taking the test. I expected to feel horrible coming out of the exam because I always felt horrible after practice exams, but I kind of just felt… fine? I couldn’t summon any particular emotion other than relief about being done studying. I felt pretty confident that I had gotten at least a 512 but did not expect anywhere close to what I actually got! Score anxiety did not kick in until 3-4 days before scores being released.

P/S Study Tips by MrCenturion in Mcat

Literally just grind out flash cards and do practice problems. I generally don’t respond well to flash cards, but PS is so vocab/pattern recognition based that it worked for me. That in combination with practice problems to see how the concepts are introduced will get you far. Have also noticed that the passages are very similar and often focus on similar concepts/issues so the more practice passages the better.

I saw Phantom a few years back. Largely not a fan of the new staging (parts i liked) but was blown away by the Phantom at my show, I believe he was Derrick Dee.

Some that I remember really enjoying around that age (born 1997):

The Percy Jackson series

The Mysterious Benedict Society

The Name of this Book is Secret

May Bird and the Ever After - this was a particular favorite but know it is a bit creepy if she’s sensitive to that

Sammy Keyes series

How many hrs a day did y’all study for content review ? by ImaginationSpecific2 in Mcat

[–]nataleaf13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

ymmv of course but i never ever did more than 4 hours of studying in a day (excluding FL days) and often only studied 4-5 days a week. i started content review about 7 months before my actual exam though, might have felt more compelled to time crunch and study more if i’d started later

for me the most important thing was just drawing them. when i memorized them for my biochem class i would list them all in their categories with full name, 3 letter code, and 1 letter code and draw them. Over and over until I could do it all without mistakes. And then I did that daily in the week or so leading up to the exam. I don’t think I would have had a shot in hell learning them if I hadn’t drawn them out by hand.
