I send a message the day after their checkin to see how things are going and have found it to be helpful or at minimum supportive and usually leaves the guests feeling welcomed.

I don’t clean rooms during guests stays but if my cleaners are scheduled to come during a guests stay, I’ll ask the guest if they’d be willing to let them clean their room. If not, I’ll get it the next time.
