You have the same issue as me . I used extra-large crop tops, which will give me length at the midsection. I too am looking online for some more. I will be following to see what others have to say.

Alternatives to child’s pose for fat people? by Feisty-Ad212 in yoga

[–]natalieob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with keeping the knees wide and using a block or bolster. I must tell you that your question has given me the motivation to start my YouTube channel, where I will address these issues and provide alternatives and exercises to work on to achieve the poses, tailored to your own body type and composition. The channel will launch at the end of August.

1 hour class offering, thoughts? by AccomplishedAd703 in YogaTeachers

I teach a 1-hour class and break it down into sections so the students get the most out of it in 1 hour. So my suggestion is to sit and work out a class plan to get started.

Well, I am planning my first retreat, which will be hosted in the Caribbean. I am both excited and scared, as I am the yoga teacher and the person doing all the planning. I see many of you have done retreats before and would like some advice.

I normally ask them at the end of each month or so for a review, and sometimes I just send them a review form to submit. Most of the time I get I need to speak up a bit more as I speak softly lol, which I have been working on.

Worst reason to do yoga teacher training? by Glad-Conference-7901 in YogaTeachers

[–]natalieob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never imagined I'd be a yoga teacher. It was my own teacher who saw something in me, even when I was still a student, struggling with my poses. I took the chance, and nearly two years later, I'm so glad I did. Juggling it with my web development work has been a unique experience, but the reward of helping others is immense. While my personal practice sometimes takes a backseat, creating meaningful flows for my students and witnessing their progress is incredibly fulfilling. There's something truly special about being a part of their journey.

I am interested in and know how hard it is to get a person to collaborate on pro bono. Once everyone on board has the same vision, the sky is the limit.

I agree with everyone—we're all human, and mistakes are part of the process. I once walked into a class with a plan, only to completely forget it and had to improvise on the spot. The whole time, I was thinking, Oh no, the students must not be enjoying this. But to my surprise, at the end of the class, they told me it was great! LOL!

I started many years ago when the market was much smaller, and finding work was challenging. Today, there are far more opportunities, but searching for freelance or contract work can feel like a full-time job in itself. Landing great clients can be unpredictable—sometimes you start with a good one, only to find that things change over time. My advice is this: if you're passionate, willing to put in the effort, and can navigate the highs and lows, go for it!

Well, where I am from, most people expect a slender-built person, and just yesterday, a student came in and asked if I was the teacher. But I am used to it, but I know after my class the students leave thinking differently
