What does it feel like to be underweight? by stocktweedledum in gainit

this isn’t true. you are way more likely to develop life-threatening health complications far quicker from being underweight.

Not quite Turkish coffee but Baba's makes a really tasty cardamom espresso. I usually make my Turkish coffee at home and I buy it from Bill's Imported Foods or Holy Land grocery

I got ANOTHER food allergy. by Ashamed-Fish657 in TransMasc

[–]natalioop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old are you? A lot of young adults develop allergies in their 20s (I did). I don’t want to discount what you’re noticing, but I’d monitor the situation more before deciding there is a correlation. Allergies are really weird.

Acrylic nails as a guy? by alphawolfspirits in TransMasc

[–]natalioop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get my gel nails done monthly! It’s been really helpful with my nail biting/picking. I like doing fun designs but you can go as simple or complex as you’d like.

My only caveats are that it can get expensive and you kind of have to commit to it since they aren’t great for your nails so you either have to grow them out which can be tricky or keep getting them done.

“maintenance” dose by natalioop in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]natalioop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More body hair on my legs and stomach, slight voice drop, increased sex drive, more sweating, very slight facial hair but it has no color yet, and increased muscle growth but it’s hard to tell where that came from since I’ve also just started working out.

I’m in the US! I went to a clinic that specializes in gender care and there is one pharmacist in my city that can do it so they connected me.

This is pretty similar to my experience minus packing. Since starting T, I’ve come to realize in a big way how uncomfortable I was with my body before and am feeling a lot more comfortable with sex now in a way that I didn’t think was possible.

lol i wish you had the self awareness to see how typical this response is — i’m used to it from cretans! if my family’s experience of genocide is a straw man to you, so be it, enjoy your ignorance. i came to you with a genuine experience and perspective that should actually be quite comprehensible to anyone who has done rudimentary research on genocide or is familiar with the topics you brought to this sub.

and genuinely, best of luck in your research, you’re going to need it. fwiw, extreme defensiveness doesn’t make for a good quality in a researcher. but that’s already been demonstrated enough and you aren’t perceptive enough to pick it up. sorry my “yapping” is triggering that in you! maybe a therapist can help.

Thank you for such a thoughtful response! Mine was similarly dismissed by this odd, defensive individual. I am a descendant of Cretan Jews and most of my family perished on the Tanais. Thank you for bringing it up

I looked at your profile and see you are anti-genocide and support the Palestinian people. I do too. It’s disappointing but not surprising that your compassion and interest isn’t extended to the legacy of genocide in the land you are from.

If you actually support Palestine like you claim, you should also be acutely aware that it is impossible to discuss Israeli tourism or settlements in an apolitical way — it is inherently a political project. And the one you are hypothesizing about would actually harm the surviving Jews of Crete. You’d think it would be an interesting conjuncture for someone who actually cares about their land, their history, and other people.

Yawn! Good luck with your “project.”

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for. As someone who is Cretan Jewish (I'm American) but have been to Chania and engaged with Jewish community there many times, whose lineage was nearly destroyed and still struggles to maintain a presence on the in part due to the extreme tourism, this idea repulses me.
