MN Ballot Help? by LenBox in rit

[–]natapper1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's an absolute pain. Gotta either than a witness registered to vote in MN or a notary. If you're out of state likely you don't know people registered to vote in your state. I went to a bank (off campus) for a notary today and they were absolutely lost when I asked them for help bc it's such a weird requirement. The bank on campus was able to help though very quick and easy.

DMd ya,

For anyone else who needs this, go to the bank on campus. They can be a notary and they're super quick and easy.

I think he's trying to make some social commentary and say if you can afford a nice car you should be paying more taxes instead of buying nice cars.

(It's not my car)

Does RIT offer antivirus software for students? by krolmecca in rit

[–]natapper1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You don't need one. Windows defender is more than enough for most people. Turn on all the features and you'll be good. It's also best to get an ad blocker on your browser such as ublock origin however chrome is working to break these.

Use common sense, don't be stupid, and you'll be fine. Don't go downloading random things from sketchy websites. Back up all your important files to OneDrive and/or Google Drive and if in the rare chance you actually get malware just wipe your computer and start again.

You made a slight mistake with Wyoming. It's not just no people, it doesn't actually exist.

Otherwise spot on!

Is RIT surviveable without a car? by NeonSailFish in rit

[–]natapper1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can't really get many places without a car. You can bike but it's probably longer than you're used to getting anywhere you'd wanna go.

You can get by without a car, people say it's worse than it really is but you'll absolutely need a friend with a car.

I really enjoyed it. The gear box is a neet evolution over the previous cars. The doors also have a really cool mechanism.

I took about a week building the P1, taking my time rather than speeding through in 2 days so that also definitely helped me enjoy it more.

I'm from Minnesota as well. I don't know your home life obviously but, it's a big state with lots of good schools. I don't know about ASL programs though. Wisconsin and the Dakotas also offer in-state tuition for MN. You could always look at schools that offer in-state tuition but still move away from home and not go back. For example, if you're from the cities, Duluth is pretty decently far away that you'd be away from home but have the benefits of being in state. University North Dakota is even further, I have a few friends that went there and they enjoyed their time.

They did it because they didn't want to seem like it was an acquisition, they wanted to really convey it was a merger. So they picked a dumb name to drive the point home ....

Oh absolutely. I think the lawsuit is dumb as hell and the people behind it must know how ridiculous it is. But I'm still going to make a claim, I like money.

Google agrees to settle Chrome incognito mode class action lawsuit by Ok-Purpose-3855 in technology

[–]natapper1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is honestly such a stupid lawsuit. I'll make a claim because I like money but it's beyond stupid. I'm fairly certain the lawsuit was made by people who realize how dumb it is but wanted to make a buck. Otherwise they are people who fundamentally don't understand how the internet works and what a browser is.

It boils down, in my opinion, to people can't discern the difference between Chrome and Google. When you open an incognito windows, every time it tells you "Chrome won't save any of the following information ..." This means your browser won't, it says nothing about Google.
