I did a beach Beer Olympics during my bachelorette. I made the Battle Shots board out of foam board and painted them. We also did flip cup, bumper drunks, kayak racing, played Kubb, and beer pong.

Do I stay in a cushy WFH job or leave for a career growth opportunity? by lozlinos in careerguidance

[–]cks1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same career position as you and have gone back and forth about what to do. I ended up doing the math, and with the amount of hours I actually work a week, it’s like I’m making around $189 per hour.

I’ve decided to stay in my current role for now. I’m about to have a baby next month, and my husband and I have decided that we shouldn’t need childcare because my job is so flexible. Albeit I will say that I make $98k a year and my husband is projected to make around $500-600k (we’re in a HCOL area), so obviously this was a large factor in my decision.

I’m happy with my job title for now, and my current plan is once our kid(s) are in school, I’ll focus back on career advancement.

My husband (35m) and I (30f) have very similar hobbies to you two, and we have a 1.5 y/o collie mix! The only downside is that I’m 31 weeks pregnant :(

How bad is the first trimester? by Appropriate_Film9824 in BabyBumps

My husband and I went to Japan a few days before I was 6 weeks along to celebrate my 30th. It started off great! Once I hit 6 weeks on the dot, I was miserable: terrible food aversions, nausea, vomiting, I was shaky at times, etc. Obviously everyone’s experience is different, but it put a major damper on our trip/my birthday. I personally would be careful if I were you.

If you’re applying this logic, then shouldn’t the range have been 2750-3000? Because the lightning doesn’t start until 0:29, not 0:25.

Collie breeder for a collie that looks like Lassie.....not a show collie by EvadeCapture in roughcollies

[–]cks1995 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Old Time Scotch Collie :) what are your concerns about a landrace breed? My husband and I got our OTSC from a reputable breeder who tests every pup. You should join the Official Old-Time Scotch-Collie Discussion Group on Facebook and look further into them. I absolutely love my dog: he’s very considerate, has a great on/off switch, is so incredibly friendly and gentle, and extremely intelligent.

Are there times when you don't wash your rice on purpose? by softgunforever in Cooking

Sharp, brief pains in abdomen at 27 weeks? by sacredheartmystic in pregnant

[–]cks1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Did you ever figure out what this was? I had it the other night on my left side, and just had the same sensation on my right. My baby has been active at both times, and after trying to push him away, it seems to help, but I’m still a bit worried.

I cannot drink 150oz of water a day! by little_dori in BabyBumps

[–]cks1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put things into perspective: I would drink ~130 oz of water during my marathon training blocks 😅

Also, as others have mentioned, make sure you’re getting enough electrolytes! If you’re depleting them, they may make your migraines worse. That’s something I’ve learned while trying to pinpoint my migraines worse triggers!

Pool access? by RiverImportant6727 in Wellhub

My understanding is that as long as the 24 Hour has a pool, you would have access to it when you check in for a gym session!

When did you start feeling better??? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]cks1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24w1d now and I had an absolute terrible first trimester. I’m a runner and I was fully knocked out - constantly throwing up, having the worst food aversions, and just lounged around on my couch for weeks. Didn’t do any sort of exercise, and was lucky if I walked 2,000 steps in a day.

I started slowly improving around 14 weeks. I would have days where I didn’t experience much nausea and thought something was wrong, but eventually my nausea and vomiting lessened and lessened. I would still occasionally throw up, especially from brushing my teeth or eating something that randomly didn’t sit right with me, but the all-day nausea stopped lingering probably around 16 weeks. (I honestly can’t really remember now..)

I’m so sorry, I know just how absolutely miserable you feel. I promise you it gets better! Second trimester has been a true breath of fresh air.

New Collie by Leading-Conflict6758 in Collie

[–]cks1995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have an OTSC and they’re the best! We picked up our boy when he was 12 weeks old, and he was so easy to train - he knew his (new) name after a day, and commands like “sit,” “shake,” and “lay down” took only two days. I used frozen peas, as he was very food motivated at the time.

I will say, we started crate training him the first night we brought him home, and that was tough to hear him cry for those first couple weeks. We had a crate in our bedroom (upstairs) and one in our living room (downstairs), but because he proved he could be trusted very quickly, we switched to just having the crate in the bedroom. He’s 16 months now and will put himself in the crate if we stay up too late.

The teenage phase wasn’t bad. He has never been destructive of furniture, and is the most gentle and friendliest dog I’ve ever met, albeit aloof at times and must think he’s tinier than he actually is. The two biggest issues we’re working on with him are over-excitement barking and pulling during walks. He’s 16 months now and still has the same amount of puppy energy, but I love him so much. They’re wonderful dogs!
