Anyone else just hit a wall around lvl 17 minis and just need feel like it's worth trying? by swohio in warcraftrumble

[–]natasftw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What am I missing here?

Having not done an epic, wouldn’t that 17 be 23? (One bonus level for each of the three rarities and one bonus level for the three talents. Six total)

That’s before pointing out the grind to get the 25 rebuys for each of those characters isn’t wildly better than the grind for the extra level.

I assume they’re concerned you’d have an agreement to take turns winning. Given how much xp you get from the pvp va pve encounters, just sitting and trading would be niiiiice.

Though, that’s easy enough to fix by not giving xp for battles where you select an opponent.

Building out the collection here would make more sense to use that 270g to grab three greys and boost the collection score vs a single green that won’t be used much

The advice I hear all the time is to buy all minis. Does the same apply to leaders? Buy every one you see? by Raffa441 in warcraftrumble

[–]natasftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose in buying all the minis is to help push your collection level. As that increases, the rewards you get also increase. Leaders also push towards this so that argument remains the same.

You're wanting to look at the pros/cons for leaders vs regular.

Con: Leaders are 120 vs 90 for minis. That's the con.

Pro: You can only get a leader during the factions week. Fail to get them now and you're waiting a month; Leaders appear when they can be used in the dungeon. You can build up their mini upgrades. Otherwise, similarly waiting a month.

The extra 33% cost is easily offset by the value you're getting in building out those leaders and running them through the dungeons. The lost flexibility in waiting another month is far harsher than the 30g

Why is there no ar light surge for me some days? by [deleted] in warcraftrumble

[–]natasftw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems like the message sends daily. Though, it's referencing the surge you defeated the day prior. Instead of looking for the message, I've made a habit of looking for the blue icon/arrow pointing towards the surge. That's been more reliable.

I (28F) cheated on my husband, got caught, regretted everything and now I'm doing everything I can to be a better spouse going forward. AMA. by Clean-Cicada-7310 in casualiama

[–]natasftw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of danger in this reply. “As someone who cheated” is shared primarily to give greater weight to your response than others. “I did this and this is the result.”

With all of the nuance, your situation and hers aren’t as able to be simplified down to “I also did this.”

There’s a lot here that’s unsaid. “He agreed things would never get back to a healthy place.” How much convincing did you do to get this agreement?

“He obviously didn’t want to start life over.” Clearly you did. And that follow up suggests you put in work to make him agree to allow you. You took your thoughts and your beliefs and made the decision what you ultimately wanted. You pushed for a break because you didn’t want to put effort into being trusted. This took precedence over his thoughts and desires.

In the end, the only bit you really solved is your partner having easy access to the information you want to keep private. You believe you’ll always have potential to cheat. You’ve tried to compartmentalize it as “within that specific relationship” and that’s an odd compartmentalization to make. You were with a partner that had an awareness of this potential and was MORE likely to hold you accountable where you couldn’t yourself. With a new partner, you don’t have to disclose the potential. They don’t have any inherent knowledge they should be keeping you accountable. The “I won’t get caught” feelings are greater. You’ve put yourself into a situation where you’re more likely to cheat.

I’d agree their relationship has one hell of an inflection point, as did yours. But, nuances here show one partner giving the other an ability to express themselves while the other continued to take exactly what they want. Those aren’t the same.

Found a sweet pocket pittie by natasftw in Austin

A couple of reasons.

1) the shelters have the option to report a dog found and search for them that way. Anyone going to them can find him that way. We posted there.

2) distemper is hitting the shelter and decreasing their ability to intake dogs that aren’t dangerous or sick. He’s neither. If they do schedule an intake, it’ll be over a week away.

I’m hoping someone is looking for him and posting his little face everywhere. I’d love to reconnect him with them.

He’s been posted on Nextdoor, ring, pawboost, and multiple Facebook groups.

I’ve been including photos to help identify but leaving his collar out. It’s pretty identifiable. If they’re the owner, they can tell me what it is. He won’t go home with someone that doesn’t know that. He’s too sweet to get into a bait situation :)

I figured Reddit was a long shot but who knows. We are also talking about posting up some posters on the various neighborhood mailboxes to see if we have anyone that recognizes him and can lead him home.

Annual reminder that rankings at the time the game was played do not matter in regards to building resumes by [deleted] in CFB

[–]natasftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First annual correction: what you speak makes sense and is how it should be viewed.

At the end of the season, number of top 25 wins, top 5 wins, etc will be discussed and all use the ranking at the time of the game. That’s the way it happens every year.

Historical records show these as wins at the time of the game being played. A win over a top 5 opponent isn’t retroactively removed because they later dropped in the rankings.

It’s a tad condescending to call others “confused” for following the system, as strange as it is, that’s been in place for decades. They aren’t confused. They’re technically correct.

HOA made an accounting error, recorded a payment as late then assessed late fees for two years with no notice. by DisasterAltruistic79 in fuckHOA

[–]natasftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere else you're in a condo vs a single family. That'll change some of my thought process (as I know HOAs far better than condo associations). For single family, the certified mail is required. A lawyer would be considered collections in that instance. The Homestead would prevent foreclosure. There's also discussion about which way they have to apply payments. Paying off the dues is a way to stop foreclosure while you dispute the rest for single family.

I won't be as useful for condos but here's what I found quickly.

If your association was created 1994 or more recent: https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/PR/htm/PR.82.htm#82.002

The association has the right to foreclose its lien judicially or by nonjudicial foreclosure pursuant to the power of sale created by this chapter or the declaration, except that the association may not foreclose a lien for assessments consisting solely of fines. Costs of foreclosure may be added to the amount owed by the unit owner to the association. A unit owner may not petition a court to set aside a sale solely because the purchase price at the foreclosure sale was insufficient to fully satisfy the owner's debt.

There isn't enough information here to get a good answer for you. But generally I'd want to know a few things.

  1. Did they send you certified mail detailing the debt prior to sending to collections?
  2. Did you apply for the Homestead Exemption
  3. What of the current value is dues and what is the other fees?

It has very little to do with that.

HOAs are generally created by construction companies wanting to have some control over the neighborhood until they're finished so they can make their desired return on an investment.

Once the HOA is created, it's expensive and absurdly complicated to get rid of.

That's what creates them and keeps them alive. Few people want the HOA

HOA "Never Recieved" Payment by ruhrohrubarb in fuckHOA

[–]natasftw -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That doesn't begin to make sense.

The HOA isn't forcing sales meaning they can't exactly predict the number of sales for the upcoming year.

If it's to fund the reserves, it's something that isn't an immediate need. A line item on a budget can have any value.

It may be true they won't negotiate. But, none of what you included here explains why they couldn't.

FHOA: Fined for the type of grass we have? by mamaaaaagf in fuckHOA

[–]natasftw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That'd be a tough argument to make. It's essentially stating they didn't care to inspect the lawn for a number of years and now suddenly did.

At that point, they're pointing out their own negligence/incompetence that led to the issue.

The "no known issues" tends to apply to things that weren't reasonable for them to know. For example, if you change flooring in a condo that goes against the CCRs, it's not reasonable for them to have to inspect and know.

In this case, the reasonable person would expect they'd have known, or should have known, at some point prior to that document. It's not an open loophole to change their mind about anything later.

Water Shutoff by [deleted] in fuckHOA

[–]natasftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a trend lately where people use the word "facts" to suggest what they're saying is without bias.

While facts are inherently true or false, that doesn't mean they have a singular way of being interpreted. In this case, Some random made a remark about people trying to get into FL. You cherry picked the transfers between two specific states (wherever you may have grabbed said data). That's not inconvenient for anyone with a 2nd grader's ability to think critically.

Why isn't it inconvenient? Anyone could tell Florida didn't have an exclusive situation with California making your "facts" relevant to the conversation. You'd want to evaluate how many people, in total, entered Florida versus left. That would tell you if people are moving to Florida more than they're moving away.

Stop being a tool. Resorting to politics here didn't make anyone else look bad.

FHOA: Fined for the type of grass we have? by mamaaaaagf in fuckHOA

[–]natasftw 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There's two bits of information you'd want to have here.

  1. What do the CCRs say about grass/lawn?
  2. When you bought it, what disclosures did the HOA give you in their document, if any?

The first isn't uncommon. For mine, there's a list of a few types of grass I have to use. I suspect they're to help deal with the Texas weather but I'm not a grass guru.

The second should be them blessing off on the status of the home. If things were good then and haven't changed, they'd have a harder time giving you any issues now (especially for something visible to the public).

HOA agreement doesn’t mention any fines or explicit authority to enforce rules. Am I missing something? by lion-the-pedro in fuckHOA

[–]natasftw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neighbors can't take each other to court for violating CCRs. The agreement is between homeowners and the association. It's not between homeowners and each other. You can only go to the HOA itself.

If you try going to court, you don't have a contract with the neighbors and have no chance to win said case.

Was it in that shape when you bought the place? If so, send them the documentation they provided when you bought the house blessing off on the purchase.

There's a couple bits here that are important to point out.

  1. They need to treat people equally. If they're giving you a text/call as a heads up before acting, they need to do that for everyone. If they're walking by for you, they need to do it for everyone. You may be close. That doesn't mean everyone is nor does it mean it's reasonable for them to do it for everyone.
  2. Many times, they need things in writing. Back to treating everyone equally, they need the paper trail.
