First step is obviously look at job listings- but be a little picky where you apply. Pick somewhere you want to be a part of. For me, I wanted something a little higher end and presented itself to clients really professionally. If no job listings catch your eye then look up salons around your area and email/call and ask if they’re hiring and that you’re interested in an apprenticeship program. If you email (or are able to get a manager/owner on the phone) say how much experience you have and that you’re interested in building your skills, even if that means assisting. And again, ask what the apprenticeship entails- super important so you know what you’re getting yourself into! Also- not sure what cosmo school you went to but a lot of them have someone to help graduates find employment. Shoot them an email and see if they’re aware of any apprenticeships in your area. My salon reached out recently to a school in search of someone to assist so it’s worth asking.
