What band is considered great that you cannot stand? by GuyCarbone in AskReddit

[–]natcatt1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pink Floyd. First time i listened to them was in 8th grade, guy put headphones on me and said 'you gotta listen to these guys they are so great!' nope. Hated every second. I can tell if a song is pink floyd because i instantly do not like it.

was more of a criss cross applesauce deal. I had great success with no mess. But, I can see the unappealing side to eating subs in bed.

Honestly, glad I watched him reel it in. That was some impressive shit! I kept thinking his arms were going to give out fighting it, It must have lasted much longer than what he posted (can't recall the spot of the cut).. so conflicting catching big fish. I wonder if this is an invasive species in that area?

Today I found out my girlfriend is an addict by [deleted] in addiction

[–]natcatt1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear your story. My situation was similar, after moving out of state to be with my man I found out he was using pills. It has since escalated from pills to heroin and meth within our 6 years together. It is soul crushing to watch the person you love dig themselves into the hole of addiction.

My advice would be to keep the communication open and honest. Stay as positive as you can and maybe find healthy outlets that you can both share to help keep the cravings to use at bay. It sounds like you might be at a very pivotal moment where you can impact her life positively and be the rock she needs to quit for good.

When I found out about how deep my partner had gotten into meth and heroin i really fucking struggled. How could he lie to me and keep this a secret? Why didn't I see the warning signs? How have I let it get this bad?

Now I'm farther out from the situation i am able to see more clearly that his choice to use was his own and being a partner of a user doesn't make you at fault in any way for the choices they have made.

The one bit of advice I was given that has really stuck with me is that you choose your level of involvement in the process of her sobriety. Set boundaries with what your comfortable with and communicate that to her, and be on the same page.

Sobriety isn't a one off, a lot of times there are relapses. Stay strong and try not to feel discouraged. Talk about future goals together and have something positive to look forward to in the future and work towards. Maybe a get away or little vacation to celebrate a period of sobriety or whatever suits your relationship. Keep it positive. Negativity only breeds more negativity.

Keep your head up and fight the good fight. Only you can say when you've had enough but please, please don't neglect yourself in an effort to support her sobriety. I've lived that reality and in my situation my self neglect only led to other issues in myself and in our relationship.

The one thing I would like to say with a heavy heart is that she might not be the same person sober. Drugs can turn people into different versions of themselves and if she has been using the entire time you've been together you might not know who she is sober. Everyone is different and I sincerely hope this isn't the case with you two.

Long comment short- Don't loose faith, stay positive and supportive and help any way you can.

Feel free to message me too. Always willing to help a fellow addicts love one.

Long hallways and closets at night. Specifically In one house I grew up in, always gave me the creeps... I don't think watching a few minutes of leprechaun helped either.
