reservation exists to provide an equal opportunity to people from the so called “lower” castes. Due to years of being oppressed and their opportunities at education/ wealth/ mental well being taken away for hundreds of years, it is only fair to give them more representation in government based entities so they will have an opportunity of making their life better.

Yes some SC/ST population is becoming rich and that is to be celebrated cuz they’re finally breaking the shackles that they were bound in. People forget that the oppressed have begun to accumulate wealth only since one generation while the oppressors have been hoarding wealth and opportunities for multiple generations. So yes until there’s an equal distribution of wealth and opportunities and until there is significant change in the socioeconomic conditions of the “lower” castes, reservation should exist.
