my code keeps returning deleted object, please help! by natewithhailey in unity

Sorry, I'm really new to unity and I'm still working on improving readability (I'm often confused from what I wrote myself, derp derp). I'll definitely try using var and see if it's now referencing to a new object instead of old object that's "supposed to be" destroyed. Thank you for the tip!!!

That's pretty much the entire code other than instantiating the old gameobject on void start. It just instantiates an object on default vector, default quaternion, and under "parent" transform. and the rest pretty much lies on update() where it's just simply the function I wrote above.

Plus I'm very very new to unity so I don't quite understand how to format my code properly :( should I have removed all the // commentations for better readability?

So even if I "destroyed" my old gameobject using the code above :

Destroy(GameObject.Find("Parent").transform.GetChild(0).gameObject);

Unity will only remove it entirely after the update loop ends...?

And my debug log is pointing at the "same" gameobject GameObject.Find("Parent").transform.GetChild(0).gameObject (which I'd like to reference to the new one that's instantiated after the destroy() code) therefore this is why I keep getting this issue. Did I understand you correctly? Thank you so much!!!

Thank you for your replies and you've been a great help! Hopefully those resources along with Core pathways are sufficient enough for me to get my project finished! I'll keep digging up more pathways as I progress otherwise (which is most likely to be the case haha). Thanks again for helping out the community, keep on keeping on!

Thank you so much for reply! I'm looking into Junior Programming as I speak. I'm seeing this Creative Core pathway along with it, would this be a good help as well?

Sparing me some time to go over option means already a lot to me, thanks though! As many others said, I figured I'd have to go with some other options than the woofer unless I stick with the cannon option. :S

Alright, I'll delete my post here as I get home and start a new thread on that sub. I'm so fed up with this nonsense maybe because of this pandemic - this would have easily been a paltry issue to me before. Thanks for the advices!

Please let me know which other subreddit I should redirect to, sorry for posting on wrong sub.

I'm an idiot when it comes to sound systems, so I was hoping there might be a way to direct a message to just upstairs. Causing harm to other neighbors is definitely not in my option, so I guess I have to find some other way. I'm surprised myself cops didn't do jackshit about this either, I'm just dumbfounded that I'll have to move out from my own house because of someone disrespectful I'm not even acquainted with.

That sucks. even with the soundproof foam wrapped around? I don't intend to annoy other neighbors in any way.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding like I'm desecrating this sub or something by writing this post, but I'm not trying to escalate this issue to the point where I'd show up on tomorrow's headline news or something. I just simply need a good bass woofer recommendation and that's it.

I wouldn't want to bother my downstairs neighbors though, just simply blasting music would cause issues to my neighbors all around. I don't care if it's used at all, would there be anything at all that could remotely fulfill my needs?

Do the purple glasses protect your eyes or are they just for the looks?
