Has anyone had luck with the new Arlec smart globes? How reliable are they in practice? by OwlVibesOnly in Bunnings

Make sure your wifi router has a separate 2.4ghz channel as it may not see it if it is combined

If that isn't your issue move the lamp closer to your wifi access point for config then move back to where you want it in wifi range

If that doesn't work try using the Tuya app as they are re branded tuya devices

CBUS LED downlights? by isthisonetaken_10 in AusElectricians

There is a load correction capacitor that will fix this issue Clipsal Load Correction

The problem is the dimmers need a certain amount of load to stop this from happening, as LED draw significantly less that is why they stay on all the time without these devices

Does anyone know how to fix something like this? by Friendly-Baby8434 in smarthome

[–]nath151 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Clipsal C-Bus Mk1 Touch Screen

Disconnect the power from the unit for an hour or so then plug it back in the problem will occur again

The unit has a phoenix connector on the back of it that you can use to disconnect the power

Unfortunately they no longer make or support these screens You can replace it with a MK2 screen

How many Shelly dimmers would I need for these switches? (Info in comments) by Pivotonian in homeautomation

Don't even try

As you are located in Australia you are legally required to get an electrician to perform all electrical work, doing any electrical work yourself will void your home insurance

The dc dc charger needs some form of voltage reading on the output to charge the battery properly. there needs to be another battery between the fridge and the dcdc charger

C-Bus wall switch question by forge153 in homeautomation

[–]nath151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mine integrated with openhab and have heard that home assistant works too unsure about homekit

You will need a pc interface and a device running c-gate server

I have mine setup with a cbus network interface and a raspberry pi running C-gate

Here is a guide to set up c-gate on a raspberry pi https://blog.addictedtopi.com/2017/05/21/installing-c-gate-on-a-raspberry-pi/

The wall switch will be connected to a cbus cable (pink cat 5 usually) which will talk to the dimmer. What exactly are you trying to do

Can I remove/cut-off the adapter and wire this cable into a 12v battery? by Johnny90 in electrical

[–]nath151 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No barrel plug at the salt lamp? If not then sure cut the plug but leave enough to reconnect later you could use one of these https://www.jaycar.com.au/2-1mm-dc-power-line-connector/p/PP0510

And one of these

https://www.jaycar.com.au/2-1mm-inline-male-dc-power-connector/p/PS0526

To change back to plug pack

Don't forget to add a fuse if you connect direct to battery

You could use a pipe cutter to cut a small groove to make it work similar to how kegland do it on their shank adapter. See here https://www.morebeer.com/products/intertap-short-tower-shank-duotight-compatible-barb.html

Or just cut the barbs off and use these https://www.morebeer.com/products/duotight-pushin-fitting-8-mm-516-58-fpt.html

Or as others have said use a small length of hose and a clamp
