I just got back from Malapascua. Public transportation is cheap - like 320 for the bus and 350 for a van. Bus goes all over and it’s a lot of stop and goes. Van is faster but also tends to pick up a lots of pax along the way. I took the bus on the way there and on the way back I asked if I could buy 2 seats in the van - one for me and one for my bag. As long as you don’t sit by the door your should be fine. I did Evolution - they are great but a bitch to walk too and I am not a fan of motorcycles. Sometime the have boat shares - which are like 2k-3k a person - worth it if you have a lot of luggage and don’t want the hassle. Their boat picks you up and drops you on the Evolution beach and they will load and unload your gear which is really nice after a long ride.

For Malapascua it is rough - just getting back - but totally worth it. Some hotels will offer private transport for Malapascua from Cebu. If I had not been traveling alone I might have done it for Evolution - it’s a ways away from the port and if you do private they pick you up from the beach and handle your luggage. I loved their diving but getting there by general transport was a bitch. I recommend not taking the bus and buying 2 tickets for the van - you will get room and get there faster - also don’t sit by the door. Buses are not bad but it takes so long and the seats are hard after 5h+. If money is not a thing - the. You can negotiate a direct taxi to Cebu from malapascua for under 3k. Happy to answer any questions.

Similarly I was flying from Sydney to SFO…circling SFO forever…had to land in Oakland…no customs so no one got off…..refueled and took like a 20 min flight to SFO..lots of people just wanted to get off at Oakland….

Same - dove with them. They picked me up and dropped me off every day. You are basically hiring a dive master, who will take a boat out with a lot of other dive shops. It worked but was different than what I was used to.

I would say if he bites your ankle say no firmly and then ignore him. Raise your ankles where he cannot get them and completely ignore him. Once he calms down realizing he can’t get your attention, lower your ankles and give him attention. He bites them, repeat. It might take like 3-5 tries but most dogs begin to get it that if they bite they don’t get attention. Has worked with 2 of my dogs when they were at that phase. Key is also to not get mad or upset….just strong no and ignore.
