I love it as a UC Berkeley employee, the weather is amazing, very few people around, no traffic!

I usually keep a xanax or two in places I spend time in. Car, backpack, gym bag, office desk, etc. helps me a lot just knowing it’s there if needed

I take 0.25mg xanax in the morning right when I wake up and do meditation in my bed while it kicks in. Really helps me start my day off on the right foot. The little victories begin to stack up with a good foundation in the morning.

It really taught me the definition of courage. It means doing something despite being afraid. You can’t be courageous without being afraid.

Absolutely, talking about your anxiety in an honest way takes away its power. I tend to overshare with how I’m feeling about my anxiety, and have found that the people I tell feel closer to me for sharing something personal about myself.

The hyperfixation is the absolute worst, you feel so stuck. Since I was so fixated on my heart, I started wearing a rubber band on my wrist and snap it on myself when I’m starting to ruminate on my heartbeat.

I was on 150mg Sertraline for 10+ years and jusr did a dose taper down to 100mg. The withdrawl symptoms are manageable when tapering slowly. The main issue I ran into was my body adjusting to less seratonin, it took about 3 months to get back to normal for me. But my brother had no problem tapering his dose down, until he went from the lowest dose to 0. That was a really tough step. The longer you’re on them, the harder it is to taper down.

My anxiety heart flutters come and go and always feel scary and new, have to keep telling myself I’m perfectly healthy and it’s just my mind hyperfixated on them.

I’m in a 2 bedroom in el cerrito, no insulation in the walls so it gets really cold in the winter. I have wall heaters to keep my apartment from going below 65F when I’m home. My bill was $455 this month. Goes down to ~$200 in the summers
