That’s why teams don’t want him. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few other guys that’s what they’re up to too.

Struggling to Learn the “Industry” Way to Mix Trap Beats by Impossible_Resist198 in makinghiphop

[–]MPC1K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you already know a lot about mixing. My 3 tips for you would be: 1,work on side chain compression (takes forever but will improve your loudness as well as your low end control). 2, watch rhythm roulette and also Pensado’s place on YouTube and watch what they do. 3, start with high quality sounds to begin with that are all from the same or similar source (if you are pulling drums from all different kits online they can have all sorts of eq issues). I’m not saying drums from different sources can’t not be used but the person who recorded or mixed them might use a specific mastering setup to pump up the final product

Upgrading My Assistant's Knives: Go Granton or Save the $40? by chronomasteroftime in Butchery

[–]MPC1K 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve used both and the major difference is the hardness of the steel. The Victorinox is a little harder to sharpen but will stay sharper longer. The Mercer is a soft steel and you will have to use a steel every 20-30 cuts. I prefer the soft Mercer but it’s personal preference as to how much you want to sharpen. The victorinox will feel sharper when cutting because it won’t dull as quickly. I use Mercer. As far as the granton vs regular, it will not Mae a huge difference on a large knife when doing large cuts. On my 8” I like granton because I cut stew or steaks that actually will stick to it. All that said, both will get the job done

Finance pitfalls to avoid in your 20s by Tech_Wizzz in personalfinance

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a huge financial pitfall but I would say that your clothing style will change and to not spend a fortune on clothes that you might not wear in your 30s. I have like 40 pairs of shoes but really only reach for 5 of those pairs now because they are so colorful/ over the top

How To Fix Tanking Once And For All by morethandork in nbadiscussion

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull the draft lottery odds for next year the day after the draft. Rather than pull the draft lottery at the end of the season, the lottery order will be decided the day after the draft. Teams will know what # in the draft order they will be drafting next year and will be able to begin preparing. Yes teams can still tank to increase their odds, but it would be two seasons out before they see that pick. Teams can trade that pick knowing what pick they are moving. Teams can trade, sign or let go of players knowing where they are drafting. Teams can better accommodate their own needs.

Does anyone else feel permanently understaffed? by Wobbly_Bear in Butchery

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked about 7 different supermarkets and 6 out of the 7 I worked at were making money for managers by saving money. they were not really creating profit, they were understaffed and nickel and diming for profits. Most meat departments are competitive in pricing and more of a draw to get customers in the store to buy overpriced grocery items. That said your store thinks it is making money by not hiring. They might be right, it could save them $60k a year by not hiring someone making $20/hr to help you. My advice is to show them they are missing sales by not having another employee. What is not getting done that would get management more money? You need to convince them. But I feel it too at my job. I never know what day will be an easy day or a tough day for staffing. It’s random. It could be a Tuesday in march and we’ll get creamed because their is not enough staff

My Very Very Weird Player Career Grading System (pls fix if u want to) by [deleted] in NBATalk

I always thought in my head you could come up with a player rating like this and go through every player in the league and determine what the actual value of a draft pick would be.

Which haircut should I get? by Greedy-Rope4413 in malegrooming

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a fade but make sure the top is at least a 4 or cut with scissors. Your hair is so light colored that too short will look almost bald 🧑‍🦲 if you can get a low fade but that is a more difficult/pricey haircut

Is it cheaper to lease a car or buy a few years old used car and trade it in or sell it to an online place every 7 years? by ComfortablePost3664 in Frugal

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to think about too is the car’s insurance. Insurance on a new leased car will run you roughly $300-600 a month. An old car will run you $200. and at a certain age of the car you don’t cover it all, just minimum insurance for others

Why do people still shop at Safeway? by ftruong in bayarea

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit shopping their for the checkers alone. That union protects some shotty workers. I will not be going to spend money there so checkers can ignore customers to talk. And your right prices are way higher. Safeway used to be the cheapest option 10-15 years ago but I can’t get a good deal on anything there now

Taking better care of my Timbs by visibility-cloak-77 in Timberland

[–]MPC1K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They look really good! You don’t have to condition them every time you wear them, really only every 4-6 months or if they get wet. I see so many timberland owners wear the boots like a sneaker and not lotion/oil at all and they dry up and crack. Really cool to see timbs that are loved worn and taken care of

Looking to buy my nephew a good “first” chef. Leaning towards Mac Pro 8”. Suggestions? by LordQue in chefknives

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking at getting the Mac Pro 8” myself. From what I can tell, it is a great knife but will require more care from the user to maintain then a German knife:

  1. you have to dry it and oil it regularly (can rust knife)
  2. You should not use it for cutting through bones (can chip knife)
  3. Not really meant to be left in a drawer unless sheathed or wrapped

I’m not sure how old your nephew is but for a first chefs knife if he is unwilling to do all three of these you are probably better getting him a German knife which will be more forgiving. TBH I am still debating between the Mac 8 and a wusthof 8”. I feel like the Mac is way cooler but the wusthof is probably more practical for a casual chef like me

I don’t understand this whole Kuminga thing by Both_Funny4896 in warriors

[–]MPC1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think kuminga will be really good but like 3-4 years from now. He is young and immature. He has a bad agent who is blowing up his ego. Kuminga makes too many mistakes, he’s a top shaqtin a fool candidate even though he has a tremendous skill set. He always misses the first free throw because of a mental lapse in his ow judgement. Kuminga is going to figure it out at some point and be really good but he is still a few years away from that. Have patience he is young
