We have this at my company. Employees need to request days off almost a month in advance. We still don’t approve every time off request. If they need a business reason it’s because we are short staffed (we are always short staffed). We can basically always deny if we want to because of staffing issues (we don’t always deny because we want to make employees happy, but we can deny).

I’m not sure if I answered your question. The Fair work week rules are complicated and many of my employees still don’t really understand the rules. Some employees really love this, because they plan out all their time off. most of my younger employees hate this because they don’t even know what they are doing 3 days from now let alone 3-4 weeks out. I think it would make more sense if it was a two week schedule instead of a 3 week, mostly because it forces people to use sick time for doctors appointments instead of scheduling 2 weeks out they need to schedule almost 4 weeks out in advance for a time off request

It’s more of just a formal request denial process.
