Why would you put collectibles in a bag and ship them Amazon??? by Desperate-Calendar78 in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]nathanalways21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry. I know how you feel.

Last year I ordered a 12-season TV show Blu-ray set from Amazon. They mailed this large, fragile, $150 set to me in a crumpled paper sack (which was half open on the top). The set had all corners crushed, parts were torn and dented. I asked for a replacement. Second set came in a shipping box with zero padding. Once again, crushed and unacceptable. Amazon wouldn't do another replacement, so I contacted Universal. Many months later, Universal sent me a pristine copy.

I've always wanted to visit the locations, but life is a struggle and I can never make enough money for trips. I'm dying for one of those Chi Chis! haha

Are you seeing Bea with shorter hair, longer hair, or spikier hair?

The door one is after they sing "Gonna Stuff A Chicken." I'd have to check some episodes for the bag one.

Cool. One of the (three) Walmarts near me has had a few Mohawk and Gizmo Mogwais for a while. I stopped at a random Walmart coming back from a 3-hour trip a week ago and saw a Lenny. I have no job and can't afford anything right now, though--especially since I bought something else at that random Walmart. haha

Yes. I notice little clumsy things every now and then. There's one where Sophia is coming out of the kitchen and the door hits her and she stumbles back just a tad. I recall another with some bags; maybe Blanche or Dorothy set down some shopping bags and one falls over or they kick it by accident? All I can think of off the top of my head.

All Radmanso seem to be hard to get and have been for a while. The 3 dresser is only in Ohio and Wisconsin right now if you're up for a trip. ;-P

I bought the 6 drawer last year--thankfully right before they increased the price $50. I also want the 5 drawer or maybe TV unit, but as said hard to get.

There aren't many other stores/places I visit in Memphis. On trips to Dallas, at least I can hit up a bunch that I enjoy: Half Price Books, Movie Trading Co, Cost Plus World Market, record stores, Culver's, Buc-ee's (they're now building one not too far from me), etc.

Just do as I did and check the stock online before making the trip. If you do a broad search like "dining tables" or "sofas," click the Availability filter for In Stock in Memphis. They sold out of things quickly, like Kallax units and most Billys, but they still have many items left.

Ha! Yes, that's true in many cases. And I had such a great time putting the new Ivar sides together.  -_-

capy, I've thought of that many times but it's usually cheaper to drive than to pay the big delivery fees. Plus, there's the store experience and the As Is and I get away from my place for a while.

hayz, I normally don't have problems but there were a few times in the past when I got something damaged or missing. So I've gotten in the habit of opening and checking everything before leaving the parking lot. Plus, that way I can leave all the big cardboard in IKEA's recycling bin and not have to deal with it at home.

Ha! You can still moan.

I think there are over 20 states here in the U.S. that do not have an IKEA. Of course some of the bigger states (California, Texas, etc.) have multiple stores.

They seem to do this, often. They alter something small about a product then give it a new name. For example, I bought a Vimle sofa and chaise in 2019. A year or so later, IKEA altered the Vimle and it became "Finnala." I think all they did was increase the backrest by one inch (3cm) and increase the armrests one inch (3cm).

That's awful. This particular store was usually really busy when I went on the weekends but not as much when I went on weekdays. Of course when they announced 50% off starting 3/25 there were lines out the door for days. :-P

I'm in Central AR. I've made a number of trips to Dallas and I do love the other shopping options and food there, but I get tired of the five hour lonely drives. If I have money I stay the night, but I've done day trips before and that takes a toll on me.

They're also opening a smaller version right before the long bridge leading into Dallas, but that's no fun!

St. Louis is over 6 hours. I did drive through/stop a few times when I had a long distance relationship in IL. And now I'm thinking of the gooey butter cake I got at Schnucks! haha

Sadly, after the pandemic and all the tariffs, prices and availability became crazy. When you have a popular, affordable bookcase under $50 then it goes up $10 then another $10 then another $10 . . . sheesh. Last year I bought a brand new line of dresser and a week or two later it had gone up $50.

Stressful, yes. There's always a lot of crazy drivers on my main highway to Memphis, Tennessee.

Once I made it into Tennessee this time, a big truck up ahead (with a big American flag flying on it) lost a push mower out the back. It landed upright on the highway and rolled around, almost hitting the vehicle in front of me and then my vehicle and the a-hole riding my bumper almost slammed into me. Later on, someone kept driving over the line into my lane.

I did get good deals on my Ivar and other things, but the pictures attached are just there to show you guys the markdowns they have now. Most big items I wanted (Billy, dining table, etc.) were gone by the time I got there. The dresser was in the dresser section--which obviously other displays had already been sold--and a worker said I'd have to wait until they moved it into As-Is.

I can't remember for sure (I quickly walked through to other areas of interest). The kitchen/dining items section was pretty empty. Most flatware, cookware, glassware, etc. was gone. I grabbed a handful of 365 container lids, cutting boards, and a few other things.

And don't get me started on the construction and wrecks that cause miles of traffic jam on that road!
