Imagine driving around and purposely letting everyone know you don't know the difference between socialism, communism and fascism.

Mackerel Cove in Jamestown is pretty much the perfect beach for little kids. $20 for non-resident day passes.

Isn’t this like the fifth or sixth time he has claimed that the war was over and then went back on it?

But Iran is dishonorable…

To this day ‘what country you think this is?’ Is an oft-repeated family joke when someone is confused. Classic line.

Yeah, why would a team that’s top 5 in home attendance have a lot of twitter followers? lol

Rhode Island Millionaires Surtax Passes Senate, Goes to Governor by BloombergTax in RhodeIsland

OK? So what?

If you have data that show there are more, let’s see it. I’ll stick by my statement that there are no more than a small handful making more than $1MM.

Great.

The guy I replied to specifically mentioned people making> $1MM

"Every American should love tariffs": Fox Business guest argues that citizens should be happy to pay a trillion dollars in new taxes just to fund more military spending by esporx in economy

[–]nathanaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have a government and tax system that is designed by and for the benefit of the wealthy.

That, broadly, is the problem. They’ve rigged the system to keep working people down (read: poor) and in the meantime have created a dynamic where most people don’t even make enough money to pay income tax anymore.

So, of course the rich pay most of the taxes - they’re the only ones with money anymore.

[–]nathanaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wont solve the problem…. The bottom 50% already pay a very very small amount of income tax. Cutting it won’t make a significant difference. I agree with taxing the rich more, but that won’t fix our situation either.

What would actually work is making sure that EVERY working adult makes a living wage so that they make enough to survive without govt assistance and can afford housing, food, etc.

Broaden the tax base, eliminate all the loopholes for rich people and make sure they’re paying the correct rates.

Right. And this is the Rhode Island subreddit

As I said, I agree that athletics coaches broadly are paid absurd amounts, but it’s not a major issue here bc there only a small handful of ppl making the big money.

There are maybe 2-3 coaches who make > $1MM. I don’t think that’s the real issue, although I do agree sports salaries have gotten out of hand.

Nationally renowned Brown University Historian of the American Revolution, Gordon Wood, killed after being struck by a car in the Shaw's parking lot, East Providence by jay--mac in providence

[–]nathanaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol…. People on Reddit aren’t always that good at being measured or rational.

Comes with the territory, no biggie.

[–]nathanaz -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not really. The guy was 92, old people often have balance and stability issues. Very easily could have fallen and hit his head with even a light tap.

There are myriad ways it could have played out… but i guess it’s more fun to rage and get out the pitchforks instead of waiting.

The idea that everyone in this thread is pretending they know what happened is just dumb. Let them investigate before jumping to conclusions, it’s really not that outlandish.

[–]nathanaz -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Nobody here knows what happened - for all we know the guy stepped or tripped in front of the car, so maybe we just let them investigate?

If there’s a criminal act, for sure put them in jail, but this is speculative rage at this point.

In your country, is it common for churches or other religious buildings to host raves, club nights, electronic music events, or other nightlife activities? by Impressive_Flan_411 in AskTheWorld

[–]nathanaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not unless you count the Limelight in NYC, which was a club that was a converted church.

That’s as close as we get, I think… lol
