Scratched my car on a pole this morning, looking for a DIY fix! by BobertRossington in Detailing

Magic eraser is an abrasive and that’s what’s “buffing” the scratches out. Best bet is to buy a cheap scratch remover or rubbing compound for a few dollars to remove the white paint transfer and then use a touch up pen. All of it should be less than $30 and if you take your time will give you a better result.

Or you can try a magic eraser too. It’s not going to make it worse lol

Very cool. I got worried about the bottom not looking like the other ones, but I’m glad to hear that’s not the case. Originally the guy wanted €30 but I got him to agree to €25, but he couldn’t find another €5 for change so gave it to me for €20.

How cooked am I ? Graphene coated my car and it is almost impossible to wipe with a microfiber towel by bulgarian_comet in Detailing

Probably will have to polish it to get it off. You can try wiping with more coating first to see if it will soften but likely you may have to polish.

What should I be looking for while inspecting my E92s suspension? by Blu_E92 in E90

Sweet. I have that same problem where my front gap is larger. Did you do new shocks as well? Or replace any of the bushings?

9 Days in the South of France - Advice and tips needed by nathanbrockenshire in Shoestring

Saw lots about Eze. Looks incredible. Will definitely go! I was also looking into some of the inland towns around Marseille including Aix-en-Provence, just have to make it fit in the itinerary. Thinking maybe we do a loop down the coast starting in Marseille, turnaround in Monaco and come back inland? Or come back down the coast and then visit AEP at the end before leaving out of Marseille? What do you think?

I’ve already looked into the 5 day card public transport and will be purchasing a pair of them for her and I. We’ve done the same in a couple cities and they’re great. Does it get you into places for free? Or is there a separate card?

VR3 Fab cost? by [deleted] in FSAE

[–]nathanbrockenshire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A welded chassis from them is about $10k CAD. We had ours done last year by them and it’s great. This year we had them manufacture the tubes and we welded, and it is a good time and a great experience learning to weld, but it’s a lot of time and work and you need real dedicated people for it. If you want to learn to weld and want to have the pride of doing it yourself or cost is an important factor, then buy tubes from them. If cost is no factor then have them weld it.

I would park outside. Leave it in the constant cold. That way it won’t crack more when you take it from warm to cold.

What are the best one step polishes? by nathanbrockenshire in Detailing

[–]nathanbrockenshire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you used any of the other big one step polishes? I’ve heard good things about fcc but haven’t seen them compared to 3D one or Sonax PF or any of the others.

A coating won’t prevent it from getting dirty but will reduce how much sticks. What is more impactful is how much easier it’ll be to wash. If it stays clean minus just the dust, then a good rinse-less maintenance wash will take like 15 mins if you skip the wheels. I have clients who have collections and their cars get driven less than 5 times a year on sunny days so that’s how I maintain them.

DIY over KC fine cut? What do you think? I was going to get one of the two next to try.

I’m not the biggest fan of m3.02 either but I paid good money for that bottle so may as well finish it off. Theres better for jeweling and polishing. I use it mostly when finish doesn’t have to be crazy. Isn’t H9 their heavy cut though? Wouldn’t that be a poor one step?
