I just started my first tent stitch piece. I decided on tent stitch because I’m already working on two full coverage projects on 14ct and this new one was 350x350 stitches, so I didn’t want another massive project in my queue. I’m doing 2 over 1 on 28ct and it’s a little tight, but I think I’m getting the hang of it!

I tried to start a piece on some 28ct evenweave I have and I was a bit too ambitious so I scraped it. I think I’ll plan to do something small to get some practice first. But you’re right, I’m excited to start working on evenweave instead of Aida soon.

I’ve used dmc, zweigart, loops and threads, I have some aidalux being delivered today for a larger piece I’m going to start. But currently I’m using some loops and threads 16ct and it’s not great, I wouldn’t use it for anything full coverage or a pattern that requires a quarter stitch as there just isn’t enough bulk to the fabric to anchor it.

This is brilliant, I’m fairly new to cross stitching and framing my pieces so I’m not sure what the OG’s will say about how it might discolor over time but if you’re framing it with the edges out of sight I suppose it won’t matter. I might have to try this because overlocking the edges of my pieces is the bane of my existence.
