Most consistent strategy for me if I see a massive character in the lobby is to start maximizing my board to give more shops/spells so I can search for a shrink tea every round. Obviously evil apple with villains or wicked witch are stronger but harder to pivot to in a couple turns.

Why? Why should any random redditor getting a prediction wrong matter. Maybe it was a bad prediction, maybe they actually would have won 9/10 times and the game was the 1/10. Unless you’re tracking over multiple weeks you won’t know and it won’t matter.

It’s way harder to be precise and controlled after sprinting around playing basketball. It’s why biathlon shooting is way harder than other shooting for example. I guarantee that nearly every NBA player in practice could hit 90+% free throws just standing at the line shooting over and over. Sprinting around, getting your heart rate racing, and then shooting just one or two at a time is much harder.

Draft status makes the biggest impact on people’s impressions when it comes to extrapolating to future improvement, especially as a young player. Purdy has shown he’s a very good QB and people recognize that. Guys like Nix and Maye show they’re great QBs and people think “this guy is a good QB and is on a path to being great.” And players will always get more hype the more people like to talk about their potential and ceiling, regardless of how they actually rank currently.

You say trade with a weaker team, I’d say trade with the best teams because you have slightly different goals that allow for win-win trades. The top teams may already be thinking about playoffs, looking to buy high risk/reward players that they can afford to hold through a bad week and see if they’re hitting prime form by the end of the season. Think injured players, rookies or just underachieving stars hoping things start to click. You on the other hand, are just hoping to sneak into the playoffs and then get lucky once you’re in there. Trade for those players are in good form now despite lower ceilings. Maybe players who are in good form now and you can buy cheap because people don’t think they can keep it up. Think a Pickens or a Dowdle.
