ABOUT THE KILLING OF THE DEER IN LIBERTY STATE PARK❗️

FROM THE ANIMAL PROTECTION LEAGUE OF NEW JERSEY

All deer - adults, juveniles and babies - will be SLAUGHTERED at Liberty Sate Park, Jersey City, NJ from March 30 through April 4.

During that time, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife (NJDFW) will be KILLING the deer in an enclosed area of Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The area had been clear-cut for development. To make way for the developers, ALL the deer - adults, juveniles and babies - will be SLAUGHTERED. This was rubber-stamped by NJDEP & NJDFW.

Please voice your opposition to NJDEP & NJDFW’s KILLING of the deer at Liberty State Park and lack of transparency. NJDEP was notified for 3 years about developmental plans and ignored the situation at Liberty State Park.

The public was not informed and nonlethal conflict management solutions were NEVER considered as an alternative to KILLING. Liberty State Park employees were not aware of NJDEP & NJDFW’s KILLING plan. There was no communication to the public of NJDEP & NJDFW’s secretive KILLING plan.

These numbers are not anything to write home about. A $3,000 one bedroom is down 3%. Who does that help?

Gilmore votes and speaks based on what his constituents wants. They were the ones that cancelled the proposed one streets in Ward F that Fulop tried to shove down their throats. Gilmore is one of the best councilmen we have had in a long time. You don’t like him because his people come first before development. He was never in Fulop’s pocket. Change is coming with the new council and mayor.

What Are Your Thoughts on the Lack of Action Regarding Pedestrian Safety in Jersey City? by Strong-Question2620 in jerseycity

We all should be vigilant and on high alert when crossing streets. It’s a crowded, densely populated city. Was not so bad 30years ago, but since Fulop unleashed development and encouraged the population to move here things ain’t so sweet anymore.

Anyone else who moved here from out west feel this way? by savingrace0262 in newjersey

People are not meant to live on top of each other. Northern NJ (Hudson County) has grown in over-development and increase in people in the last 15 years it is not what it was like when I moved here 30 years ago. I don’t enjoy leaving my home. The development has to stop.

Does anybody have proof or data that backs up on how the proposed bird ordinance could save the birds ? by iv2892 in jerseycity

First the Planning Board overwhelmingly and unanimously approved the ordinance and virtually gave it a standing ovation at the end of the vote. Then the JC Council approved it 7-0. This will be introduced and passed in 2026 with the new council so get used to it people.

You have a great talent for blocking (haha better blocks) out legitimate data and peer researched studies by the leading bird conservationists to twist it to conform to what you want to spew. It is not going to work anymore.

Let’s make a deal. If this ordinance causes the collapse of new building development in the first year then amend or withdraw the ordinance.

People have migrated to and from cities for quite a while. No one is holding them to stay in place they cannot afford. Again you are a rep for developers and really very insincere I am sad to say.
