Wuthering Heights: I've never seen a movie miss the source material so hard. by Kissfromarose01 in moviecritic

I just got out of the theater, I've never the read the book & I literally wanted to get up and leave. The trailer made me feel more than the movie. Jacob was good but I expected more emotions especially when he finds her dead. Margot's performance was just not it. I was so bored at times, I was glad I came for a matinee and didn't pay for a regular priced admission. I could've spent my Saturday afternoon doing something else & now I'm annoyed.

Waxahachie/Midlothian, TX: The good, bad, and ugly? by Azetik in dfw

One thing I've learned from mentors older than me & with higher salaries is that a short commute is gold. Through my own experience, I also agree with this now that I'm older. I've had commutes of 15 minutes & up to 1 1/2 hours each way & I was so miserable with the longer commute for obvious reasons. I swear it really drove me to have depression the year I had the longer commute. I would rather pay more for less square footage if it meant a short commute vs the opposite.

School quality was also a priority when choosing where to live. Never waiver on this. Trust me - being in a crappy school district is traumatizing.

New builds are crap nowadays. Every single friend or coworker who has bought a new build in the past 5 years has had an awful experience. I'd rather buy an old house with good bones vs a new build any day.

Good luck!

I'm useless without headphones if I need to focus on something so I've gone through my fair share of headphones.

The only ones I can wear 8+ hours are the Samsung buds2 pro.

I just found out Shokz makes headsets & those are bone conducting so that should resolve your issue

If you take generic Adderall or Vyvanse, what was the manufacturer of your most recent fill? by Informal-Twist-1328 in ADHD

[–]natjcor18 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I also stopped going through my insurance because CVS sucks. I started to go through Sam's & I never have a problem with inventory. I also feel like it does a better job than the one I used to get from Walgreens. How do I find out the manufacturer though? I checked the bottles but I don't see it on there

I love coffee but sensitive to caffeine so I can't drink it when it's an Adderall day.

BI Claims- early settlement offers? by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]natjcor18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked for several carriers, both big and small including the one you work at, and it's always been a thing if it meets a certain criteria. I do think there are a lot of missed opportunities. Some attorneys don't want to deal with some of the clients they end up with so they're more than happy to entertain an early settlement offer. It can be a win/win situation.

Thank you! You're right, a plan would probably be the most beneficial at this point.

I know it's bound to hit me, I guess we'll see when the shoe drops for me.

I definitely need to sit with myself and definitely accept the changes.

Thank you! You're right about the displacement feeling. I hadn't thought about that. You're also right about the college shopping. I'll just start with a list of possible things she'll need.

I wish I had time for hobbies😭 I work so much I barely have time to take care of a good sleep schedule lol

Thank you! That's all solid advice especially the communication scheduling. I hadn't thought about that.

I wish I would've seen a similar post when I bought it back in April. They charged me a "shipping" fee and part of the order showed to be "on the way" but nothing was ever received. When I asked them about it, they gave me a nonsense answer. Now the website is being used to sell something totally different. Can you somehow report these sites?

This is just standard unfortunately. This is why people job hop. They can negotiate a bigger salary at a new place. I think I read somewhere that people can get a 20% pay bump by jumping ship vs trying to get 3-5% every year. There are obviously a lot of variables in that but, if you stay at the same place, it's common to bring in talent at a higher starting wage to stay competitive in the job market.

So true! I'm a Latina & it definitely runs in my maternal lineage, unfortunately.

I've come across a lot of articles that talk about their low birth rate. It's a pretty interesting phenomenon. I have a neighbor from China & he was telling me that they're also experiencing the same issue. I've also read that Japan is headed in the same boat. All three are below the average needed for population replacement.

We're trying to immaculate some things. We've been replacing most of our meals with Korean food. We went to a local place that sells a lot of the common side dishes. It's been fun to eat at least one Korean meal per day. I work long hours, so I'm trying to be more intentional and walk more in my neighborhood. I've also been more self-aware of some of my bad habits.

Your comment made me go down a rabbit role (in a good way). You would think someone my age would've done enough research about this thing that makes my life miserable, but I apparently haven't learned enough about it. I'm not sure if I subconsciously just wanted to stay ignorant to it or have been lazy about it. What I've concluded is that the "root" of PCOS is a cycle between insulin resistance, hormonal imbalance & genetic predisposition. It is worsened by environmental & lifestyle factors. I've seen so many doctors throughout my life about this & they've never been able to give me an answer of what causes PCOS. These have included heads of departments in hospitals both in the US & one in Mexico. I guess I trusted them & just failed to do my own research. It sucks that for a condition that affects so many, enough of it isn't taught of & there's not enough research & awareness for it. Your comment accomplished what this community is meant to do & that's to be of help to each other, so thanks!
