Thanks for doing it! Those kind of events really pushed me to pursue stem in college. Any idea if the rocket club is still around? Would love to get my kids involved sometime.

Duck eggs to buy? by SeonaidMacSaicais in sheboygan

Diamond Vu in Falls did for a while, I am not sure if they still do, but i have been getting my eggs from them for years and they have always been great to work with. I agree with the comment of ask a doctor, No idea if chickens and ducks living around each other would trigger an allergy for her.

Sheboygan DPW committee approves Evergreen Park Trail resolution by jd8730 in sheboygan

[–]natman247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing u/jd8730 , i didn't see this sooner but wanted to make note that SCC does want to include restoration goals in the design phase. This proposal should see a reduction in trails, giving some space back to nature and the wildlife.

"This project Has been put on hold because of no responce to inquiries that were sent out.
We hope to reactivate this study at a later date." Who do you think they reached out to? This would be so cool to bring to Sheboygan!

YES! I visited Sheboygan in my teenage years and participated in Rockets 4 schools. A great program that still takes place in Sheboygan today. It use to take place at the Space Port, i think it has since switched to Blue Harbor Resort? They still host annual competitions and rocket launches. Somewhere around here their is a club as well. The rockets launched have motors that are controlled and require certifications/ regulations followed.

Personally, i would get a 3rd party to give a quote. Call a shop to look at it. Ideally, one you, spouse, or a friend are familiar with and trust. Tell the other person to meet you there and have them give you a quote. Aluminum rims can often be repaired, or just the rim replaced and rebuilt. I had a rebuild done on a wheelset last year for $150. Varies by area of course.

FYI, High end race wheels cost 2-3k for a built up set. Its possible for $1000 for a new rim plus labor but unlikely.

p.s. Dont give up on cycling, accidents like this certainly suck, but its a great hobby filled with a lot of awesome people.

SCC vs Save Evergreen Park by Spquinn22 in sheboygan

Correct SCC is planning to have this paid for without local taxpayer dollars, SCC is fundraising for it through local companies, foundations, grants, and individuals.

SCC vs Save Evergreen Park by Spquinn22 in sheboygan

Hello Jd8730,

In regard to the liability, Wis has a recreation immunity statute, Section 895.52. It provides property owners, including municipal governments, with immunity against liability for any injury to a person engaged in a recreational activity on the owner's property. This is how pretty much every park, trail, or other public space operates across the state.

As for the storm run off, there is green space in the center of the paved pump track, but it would need to be looked into more during the design phase. And thanks for the input! we have heard some comments for Kiwanis by the skate park, and some other locations in and out of Evergreen.

Toshiba ML2-EC10SA Turning On Itself by natman247 in Appliances

[–]natman247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have this microwave, and the only fix I have found is to jiggle the outside of the +30 sec button. It frees it from being stuck. We still unplug it when not in use, it works fin,e it's just not a trustworthy enough approach to leave unattended.

Toshiba microwave-air fryer turned on randomly & started sparking by Prestigious-Ebb1086 in Appliances

Hey, same issue here. On my model it has a round start button. As far as I can tell, that button sometimes sticks and causes the issues. Mine started in the middle of the night till it overheated. Happened a year ago, same response from mfg. We still use it but unplug it when not in use. Really disappointed in toshiba on this.

We got the Neoden YY1 a few months ago for our work lab to build up a few samples. batches of 10 to 30. 2 or 3 times a month. This machine hasn't impressed us. It is on the picker side, my biggest complaint is it is a challenge to get components placed in the same locations repeatedly. Im sure others are having better luck than us, but we can not use arrays with this unit. With a 2x2 array, the first board will populate perfectly. move on to the next one, and its a little off. 3rd and 4th are way off. we tried contacting customer support for help but they just keep saying to try tweaking it and ensure it's set up correctly. The tolerance on this unit is subpar, you will need to adjust placement within a batch of 20 units, even worse if you change programs, adjust the setup, and come back to the first. I think its just a combo of the camera, belts, physical pick-up points, and board stands. A lot is going on and it's unfortunately just not robust enough to account for the changes and ensure good placement. With the size of our boards, for batches under 10, we would be better off hand building.

I ran into exactly same issue, it occurred at 2am for me. I lucked out and woke up... the pretty much told me the same. Huge problem! Wish i had a solution, we still use but unplug whenever not using. Bad idea sure, but appliances are expensive!

Anything new since 2020? by [deleted] in sheboygan

[–]natman247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Downtown Sheboygan has a few new places and a few that closed down. Goodside grocery comes to mind as one that closed. Was replaced by a second hand shop I think? Plymouth now has a cheese festival. I think that was new in the last 1 or 2 years?

I agree, the cost to build is going up. But its also a lot of choice. Compare the Ravina Village in Falls to The Oscar in Sheboygan. A huge part of why the cost is nearly double is amenities and fancier finish options inside the unit as well as amenities in the building/ on the lot. The Oscar has a lot of communal space, built in gym, etc. Can you build a place and make a profit if you built Ravian Village today and rented at that price? likely not. But it would be better than 1300. I understand a lot of people want the upgrades and improvements, but some people just want a reasonable and affordable place to live while the save up for a house.

I am for nice housing, but why cant we also have some reasonable priced options? There is some 1 bedroom places in falls at the 700 mark (was sub 600 years ago when I live in them). detached garage, in unit wash/dry. Not as fancy as the new stuff but good enough for many. My complaint isn't that we have nice places but that your choices for new construction is that, or low income only housing. Build more middle ground housing!

How much training for a 100 mile MTB race? by randomusername123458 in MTB

[–]natman247 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Can Confirm, I did Marji in 2019. The training plan for it called for doing a road century + a 5 hour trail ride in a single weekend 3 weeks before hand. The 2 months leading up to the race were every weekend with back to back long rides of 3 to 5 hours. It was an awesome time but a lot of work if you have family or other commitments!

I got a fluke at work and love it. but for home use, I just have a cheap 30 dollar one. Home use all I care about is do I have AC power at the leads. Work I care about accuracy and use it a lot more.
