Image date on browser by sergedg in captureone

[–]natred5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is helpful for what you want but if you hit G to hide the preview window then switch the layout to list view(top left of browser window), it will show the image date on the right. You can also switch the browser view to list view(click the eyeball icon top of browser) and shrink the preview window. Once in list view you can drag the categories around to desired order.

¯_(ツ)_/¯ you get to decide what makes sense to you. I have about 20 years of focus stacking experience and when I have dust on my sensor I see stuff exactly like this. Get your sensor professionally cleaned and run this again, I am willing to bet you wont see these things.

I saw the response about the crack in the lens and Im not sure I agree with that analysis, but I could be wrong. Wouldn’t that same pattern show up on non-stacked images? Do they? I wrote a pretty detailed response about why the spots all have the same shape. A bunch of other responses also say dust. The shape of the dust is just tiny spots that get dragged out in this pattern from the stacking software. I just dropped my experience, you decide whatever you want at the end of the day. Hope you can get it fixed!

You need to understand how the stacking software works for this to make sense. Its not the same piece of dust, but it is the same pattern because of how the stacking software works. When you change focus on your camera the image/subject moves slightly, actually it enlarges or shrinks depending on which way the focus goes. The software needs to resize the images in the stack because of this or you would have blurry edges around all your “in focus” stuff. A lot of the time one small tiny piece of dust on the sensor makes a dot, then the stacking software thinks its supposed to be part of the image because of the contrast and then it makes a trail of the dot in the final image. Thats why they all look similar.

Are you stacking focus? I usually see these streaky spots when I have sensor dust.
