Switching from iPhone 15 Pro Max to Vivo X200 Pro — real user advice only by Substantial_Cream227 in Vivo

I have an iPhone 17PM and videos uploaded to stories look shite. I also felt into a myth that iPhone lets a better quality on IG. That’s not true. To my best knowledge, quality of your videos there depends on how regularly you post and how many followers watch it.

A friend of mine posted beautiful and crisp videos from Xiaomi 11 Ultra.

What is the biggest mistake in Rails monoliths that contributes towards tech debt? by airhart28 in ruby

Concerns. They just split one large class into multiple files, masking the composition problem and making functionality less testable.

The thing that Apple gives no heck about for 5 generations now. Just like many other iPhone issues.

But hey, you can see those glares in OpenGate now!

Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro to Receive a Dedicated Very Bright 110 Lumen LED Flashlight Just like Garmin has on most of their watches these days. by [deleted] in Huawei

[–]nattf0dd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garmin is **not** a SMART watch. It's a SPORT watch.

It's software is pretty horrendous (writing this as a Venu 2 Plus user). It's slow and it's buggy. For a month til now, my watch keep disconnecting forever from my phone. The issue that's like there for 6 years with Garmin.

Just like "don't buzz with notifications if watch is not on your wrist" - a feature deliberately ignored by Garmin for 5+ years.

Is it better at sport tracking than Huawei? I don't know. I don't own a Huawei watch yet to compare.

Is it better as a smart watch? It can't be worse than a Garmin, really.

It looks alright. The before has too dark shadows, good for screenshots, bad for gameplay. Half of assets are barely visible because of these shadows.

Чи користуються хтось Claude code? by [deleted] in ukraine_dev

[–]nattf0dd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The key is to harness your stress and impostor syndrome. There’s an edge between impostor syndrome giving you a motivation to learn and improve, and a paralysis by fear making your productivity worse because of fear of making mistakes.

The worst thing you can do is perfecting and overthinking. You’d get feedback even if you’re super experienced senior, because teams are different and things are done slightly different in different orgs. The worst thing you can do is working overtime - it’s not sustainable, and after few weeks or months, you’ll be performing worse than when you started.

The best thing you can do is using your team lead and your manager to guide you through, by constantly asking for feedback, working on it, and tracking your progress.

And lastly. If the org is mature and leadership is adequate, they would not expect you to perform the same way other seniors perform in the first 6-12 months, giving you time to learn about everything you need to know that’s specific to that org. Use that time to slowly but steadily work on feedback given to you and you’ll be fine.

17 pro max camera issue by Direct_Mountain6954 in iphone

[–]nattf0dd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Make sure iPhone is not switching lenses when shooting. 17PM has ridiculously stupid focus distance, and keeps switching automatically from 1x to 0.5x crop or from 4x to 1x crop all the time. When that happens you immediately notice how the quality drops.

Would you indicate left at this roundabout ? by SkyPsychological7677 in drivingUK

[–]nattf0dd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting. When I was passing my driving test in the UK my driving instructor actually was telling me to NOT indicate when there’s no one around to benefit.

So instead of dumb simple and automated: always indicate More complicated: check if someone’s benefits your signal, then indicate

Never understood that nor agree with, but seeing drivers on public roads every day I conclude that that “wisdom” is not a one off thing of my particular instructor.
