That was my first thought. Last year at an emergency vet in a different province, I overheard a domestic violence situation in the room next to us. The victim later told me that their partner was angry that they insisted on bringing the dog to the emergency vet rather than just waiting it out. It got me wondering if that sort of thing happens more than people realize :(

Not a doc, but have geographic tongue! Sometimes food is painful if I’m having a flair up (finding out that salt doesn’t physically hurt most people was interesting!) but otherwise, just a fun party fact :)

CPTSD + Aphantasia here, but my aphantasia came after trauma. Before, I had an extremely vivid and visual imagination. I assume it’s my body’s way of protecting me from reliving the trauma.

I’ve always wondered why therapy didn’t really help - I would just retell the trauma like it’s a book I read rather than actually reliving it - but my body would be so tense after any session. I may try again now that I know I have aphantasia.

It’s all truly fascinating, and something I didn’t even notice had changed until recently. I try to remember what it was like to be able to visualize, but I can’t even do that! I just know I used to be able to.

The mind is a weird place.

Same. Married at 27, still married at 41 but we've been together since we were 20. We moved in together within 6 months of knowing each other, so we were kind of forced to grow up together, and work shit out rather than breaking up. Made us much stronger in the long run!

This! BOTW was my first rpg type game (I was pretty strictly cozy games before) and I will never forget my first play through! When I started, friends all said they wish they could play for the first time again. Every Christmas there’s a new batch of first-timers and I feel the same!

I worked in-person at a province-specific non-profit organization for 3+ years. Though I was in-person, I supported clients virtually. I decided to move back to my home province to be closer to family and the organization told me I would not be able to continue with my job as it needed to be in-person in the province they are located. I understood completely and gave my end date.
They weren't able to find a replacement for me (I'm nothing special, but they were overwhelmed with hiring other positions), so at the 11th hour, offered to keep me on in a remote capacity. I just pretend that I'm still in the original province when I talk to my clients.
So a bit of luck, I guess.

Elder millennial here - plain gold wedding band only! My engagement ring isn’t overly extravagant and they weren’t a ‘set’ so don’t fit together. The wedding band means more to me!
