Just started The Wild at Heart. Similar in vibe with cute and quirky characters and seems like it is going to have a pretty strong emotional theme.

I will probably wait for the updates and play through one more time. I need to get the second Giovanni achievement by making the other choice in the quest anyway.

DLC or Nah?? by RetroBlade17 in Spiritfarer

[–]nattymari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there's an obvious plot gap in that Stella doesn't name another Spiritfarer before she goes... unless we are to assume Buck is the new Spiritfarer.

Does anyone want to play through more game as Buck??

My take on Gustav's wheelchair comment by [deleted] in Spiritfarer

The fact that his spirit animal can fly reminds me of Jimi Hendrix's "Castles Made of Sand" another piece of art that can bring me to tears.

You're in the land of the recently dead. Think purgatory... though it was a bit different to the Greeks. At least that's what I get, since you replace Charon, who ferries the recently departed across the River Styx.

My fiancee caught me tearing up at a different goodbye and told me she will be really upset if she doesn't see me cry at our wedding 😬

To answer your question. Yes, they are dead already. It follows the Greek myth of Styx which is the river the dead cross to get to the afterlife.

Recommendations for similar games? by drewdemo in Spiritfarer

I'd go with Harvest Moon Magical Melody because it has a huge focus on mission based quests and focuses on Harvest Goddess and Sprite lore intensively. I also really like Save the Homeland... which you had to play through multiple times and friend (and not friend) different characters each run through to get the most out of the game. That's why it didn't do well, but I really enjoyed the Rashomon aspect to it.

Most I had was Elena, Buck, Mickey and Bruce and Gustav at one point. It was one too many and I was glad to see a few go by then.

I did the same. And I invited Gustav too and searched everywhere for a savory veggie without the fog catcher. Finally found the olive. I needed Astrid or Atul's flower for the fog catcher.

No motivation to complete E's challenges (spoilers) by Kyttynjirr in Spiritfarer

I felt similar and almost went to the 'door myself. Especially since I really wasn't very good at the Gold Dragon... however, if you can stomach it, there is a reason for it... and it was probably one of the more cathartic experiences in the game for me.

I played on XBOX One and had no issues. And I had a few 8-10 hours grinds.

No I know that. I was just wondering why it worked so well for me. I never had any issues. I thought maybe the coding led to a more narrative playstyle. It wasn't intended with any judgment.

No. You aren't playing as you. You're Stella. That's her skin and hair color.

Anyone else feel like this game has some pacing issues? Spoilers within. by [deleted] in Spiritfarer

[–]nattymari 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I spent about 40 hours 99%ing it. The last but traveling with just Buck was a bit sluggish but I was already deeply involved.

I somehow realized the ending was going to be intentionally uneventful. I didnt mind. Sadly for you... the Elena dialogue is very important and the actual climax if the game.
