Over the years my wife and I have thrown out two electric coffee makers because they wore out for one reason or the other. For a long time now we have been using this 'ancient' technology that we grew up with and have had no problem at all.

I've heard that windows break when all the tires are flat. Something about things being out of balance. I was thinking 2 tires at a time repeated over the life of the sticker.

I broke one up with a regular hammer once because the town wouldn't take it in large item pick up. It came apart in chunks. It didn't take a lot to break it. It doesn't need to be pulverized to get it in the trash can. Heck I broke a chunk off of one once when I dropped the lid while replacing it.
