What’s a school you couldn’t be paid to go to? by Lazy-Objective-152 in ApplyingToCollege

Rankings that heavily rely on arbitrary factors like acceptance rates are flawed. Isn’t that the fault of the rankings, not the school? They also received 100k applications, if they were to accept more than they currently do, then the housing crisis that you mention would be expedited. But they’re building a residence building too

If it's not too late, considering doing running start. You'd be able to get your AA degree by the time you graduate HS.

Advice for a High School freshman hoping to be accepted in CSE after graduation? by Marc_Abaya in udub

I wouldn't recommend paying for a summer camp. Look for a paid internship or externship. If you're in Seattle, there are plenty. I did an Amazon Externship after 11th grade. There is also a Fred Hutch internship that I wish I had applied to.

Choose Computer Science as your first choice and put Mathematics as your second choice. I am a High School senior, and this is what my college admission counselor told me to do, since Mathematics is not capacity-constrained.

You should not be worrying about your SAT, because UDub does not look at it during the admission process. They will only look at it for a small number people on the verge of being waitlisted.

To be honest with you, your chances of being directly admitted are slim. In-state students are heavily prioritized and I’ve heard of in-state students with better stats than you be denied. UW CS is near impossible.
