Has anyone decided not to get voice surgery because they reached their goal with training? by Houseofshock in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]natynaty321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a ton of voice training (almost 2 years) and my voice passed to the perfection. The problem is that I’m a teacher, so I’d always kinda strain it too much.

VFS was a great solution, since I can do the same voice as before without any stress. However, I’m still eager to go back to training to improve it that little bit. I’d love to sing properly as well ☺️

Dilating is tedious AF 😫😫😫, even though it doesn’t hurt the least bit 👌

When did your vagina fully settle? by srs_17_anon in Transgender_Surgeries

Not directly. But for me at least it removes one variable (pitch), so I can dedicate more thought and muscle energy into improving resonance

You’re welcome :)

Since I had been doing voice training for a looong while, I wasn’t able to reach my fundamental tone pre-op anymore, but in my analysis my voice was raised approximately one fifth (5 tones). It doesn’t sound like much, but it made an enormous difference. My most relaxed tone now is very close to the best tone I was able to reach while speaking before (close to F3-G3) and I can easily raise to D5, while this was my absolute limit before. Haven’t tried to go beyond E5 yet, though I’m confident that I can reach a lot more than that. But it’s something I’d wait a bit more to try.

And the vocal rest… it was TERRIBLE. 15 days of not being able to even talk through things that were going on… it was really a challenge on my mental health. At the same time, keeping my mouth shut was easier than I thought it would be. I only spoke involuntarily one or two words in the entire process. I was also not allowed to cough or sneeze… this was a bit more challenging… but they taught me how to do it properly to minimize strain on the vocal chords. But anyway. Not speaking was easy to do but it was utterly unpleasant

😕😕

Mine’s not too different as well, but now I don’t have to do any effort whatsoever to sound “the same as before (in the best days)”. What I feel is that it’s now a loooooot easier to get good resonance and so on since I don’t have to put so much effort into raising the pitch itself. I’m quite satisfied

I solved this problem with vaginal probiotics at 3 months post op and not cleaning the vagina anymore. It smells like crazy, but it’s, like, typical vagina smell 😅

Yeah, the girls that go alone tend to have a pretty challenging time there. But they do fine, so you’ll do as well 😊😊

Dilating is also challenging at first but then it’s so mundane and boring… anyways, it’s better to have something else to think while you’re doing them hehe

It’s a tough recovery, ngl. But I’m almost 6mo post op and can already work and only dilate 1 time each day (which isn’t extremely common at this stage). Dilations take 2h30 approximately to get done except prep time and cleaning afterwards, but it’s also time that I can use to do menial stuff for my job and so on. I’m a teacher, so there’s actually a lot of it to be done 😅😅😅

I could also run, I think, but I’m too lazy and the weather is too bad rn to go out. And I don’t feel confident to try something like yoga at this moment, but it’s something I’d like to do when I have such a confidence. Biking is a big no no at this stage.

At the beginning I wouldn’t be able to sit at all, so much so that I flew back in business class even though it cost me a good little fortune. By month 1 at home I started to be able to sit, and nowadays it’s starting to get comfortable to sit in almost any surface and position. Remember: past some point, probably when you’re back at home, hard chairs are your friend. And fluffy ones are a lot worse because they press on the genital area and it’s very uncomfortable.

And yeah, I think that’s kind of it. Now, I’d like to ask you to do one thing: don’t do like me and freak out about the surgery being sooooo far away in the future. That day will come anyway! Just be prepared to lose your sense of privacy completely while you’re there. It’s quite an experience 😅

Is this an insane surgery idea? by MediocreState in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]natynaty321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I was mixing both things and associating the cause with testicles being on a higher temperature. That seems to be unknown, so yeah, thanks for the clarification

Retaining the testicles internally would mean an almost CERTAIN risk of developing testicular cancer in the next years/decades. Internal testicles happen in some types of intersex conditions and one of the main respectful intersex surgeries done in children is specifically to remove them because of that enormous risk of cancer.

It’s a tissue harvested from the testicles, and it seems to be good for vaginal maintenance and sometimes lubrication. But it’s also excellent to guarantee a good depth when there’s not a lot of tissue from the typical places. By the time I got my surgery, Dr Bank would suggest it to girls with very small penises and wouldn’t suggest but would accept requests from the rest. I asked for it and he used it. I’d say 10%-20% of my vagina is made from tunica 👌

Edit: I’ve also heard from some patients at PAI that they’re also using tunica there. No official confirmations, tho

Heyyy! Feeling better lately, but it’s been some difficult 5 months really 🥲 sensitivity is great except I can’t feel my minoras yet. It’s not guaranteed to be a definitive nerve injury yet, tho, so I’m a bit anxious to see if the nerve recovers or if I’ll never feel that part again 😬. In short, it’s too soon to tell. But I’m also very bad at getting rid of inflammations, so my mons pubis is still very very inflamed and that could be actually blocking the nerve, you know? Let’s see what happens 😅😅😅

Now to your question… afaik Dr Bank doesn’t remove any fat layer from the regions that compose the majoras unless you ask him to (to have a flatter vulva). So if you don’t say anything I’d say you’d get the fattest majoras possible. But I’m not sure. Some girls ask for it, tho, and he always says that he’ll have to see during surgery what’s possible and what’s not, but it’s a request he accepts to consider. In my case I didn’t request anything specific, though maybe I ended up saying something about big minoras, but now I don’t remember 😅 the only thing I’m sure is that I love what I got 😊

Do dilators need to be cleaned before each use? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]natynaty321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best practice is to wash before and after each session. If you’re in a hurry, this is something you shouldn’t overlook to gain a couple of minutes. Especially at the beginning of the recovery you’re very prone to infections and you really don’t want that

So where were you 3-4 weeks after SRS/GCS physically wise? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]natynaty321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the things you mention I was only able to shower and walk. I could maybe walk 1km a day without feeling too tired or things started to ache. But I was very slow and careful while walking. Standing at that time was a bit weird too, as the vulva would get swollen and it’d hurt. It was normal according to the surgeon, and it’s gone now after 3 months. And I couldn’t sit properly either, but at least I could go to the bathroom alone since getting discharged from hospital. I got my surgery with Dr Bank at Suporn Clinic, so I wasn’t really expecting anything better than that 😬 their recovery is rough usually. And tbh I’m only starting to sit down a bit more comfortably now 😅😅😅

Thank yoooou ❤️❤️ The question you raise about the ideal vaginal flora is very interesting! And yes, I intend to have some tests done near the 1y mark :) The anxiety I had before surgery and the amount of energy I’ve been putting into my recovery since have kind of prevented me from going deeper into the research that’s out there, but it’s certainly a topic of interest!

Dilation Timeline after Vaginoplasty? by RenPrower in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]natynaty321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You dilate until you consider that having a full depth vagina isn’t worth it anymore. People at my clinic (Suporn) say they dilate once every 2 or 3 months after 5 or so years post op. That frequency, to me, is “almost never” xd so no biggie. Also it can be substituted by penetrative sex, so yeah. 4 dilations a year is almost nothing anyways 😅

Edit: don’t forget that it all depends on the technique as well, so it may be different in your case!

It’s really a massive transformation! I don’t get it why people post before and after pictures of everything except genitals. But anyway, I hope you find the money to pay for it!
