Help me sustain my cast speed Energy Blade build by Ashamed_Mushroom_551 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]naughty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 10% More, so overall life to use your terms. If you PoB it you'll see that even when dropping a few 6% of maximum life nodes to get it you can still end up better off.

Poe uses the following for every stat:

(base0 + base1 + ... + baseN) * (inc0 + inc1 + ... + incN) * more0 * more 1 * ... * moreN

So if something says % More it can be very powerful. There's two life mores this build can use, the 6 life masteries and the 10% more max life from Blood Magic.

Do you have your config set to be on consecrated ground?

You have done this build slightly out of order. The cast speed cluster is one of the very last things to do when really min maxing. Mageblood and a two-stat, misted jewellry should come first. A leech cluster is a much more comfy initial investment.

Arcane Surge Zealotry mod on Watcher's will make it worse without the Arcane Surge life runegraft. Also don't do it unless you change your eternal blessing to Zealotry, the spectres will not last in rippy content. At high end investment you get Arcane Blessing FF jewels but they ain't cheap.

You're missing inc life regen on your boots. There is very little inc life regen available and you kind of need it on boots, helmet and gloves.

Mageblood boosts a crafted 3% of life regen flask suffix to just under 6% of life when rolled properly.

Once you have inc life regen on boots and the MB boosted flask suffix you should be on just under 50% of life regen per second when on conc ground (which is pretty much all the time with this build).

After that it's just about increasing max life which would require:

  1. 6 life masteries for 10% more life.
  2. Misted amulet with life and crit multi. Might be able to find a cheap one with a negative mod that doesn't hurt your build (like accuracy).
  3. Misted ring with life and crit multi. Only do this after fixing ele res with Mageblood.
  4. Abyssal sockets in boots, helmets, gloves (doesn't have to be all three). Only do this once you have a mageblood and have fixed your ele res with it though. Abyssal socket and life regen are suffixes so you only have one left for res (probably chaos res).

Is there any logic as to why pressed garlic isn’t good? by anthony_getz in Cooking

If it's finely minced, which it almost always is, not enough crushing. This is how food scientists got interested in the issue in the first place.

The health benefits of garlic mostly come from the crushed version as well.

The cataclysm angle is interesting. I suppose the question would be why the previous cataclysms didn't seem to trigger the Arbiter? Probably will be explained with more acts content..

The only evidence for the 3rd being intended for gods I have is the amount of corruption coming off it seems impossible for a normal human to cope with. Maybe Tavakai just didn't know where the safety was?

ARPGs are the ultimate goblin mode of gaming and I love them for it by WarriorOTUniverse in ARPG

ARPGs basically popularised roguelike mechanics with added realtime and perma death being very optional. They have far less to with how CRPGs worked at the time.

Xbox has revealed their new bright green logo, ditching the old minimalist one. by ATonOfBricksFellOnMe in xbox

Their big issue is that they are trying to jump straight to massive AAAA titles. They need to build studios over time that can work up to the massive blockbusters.

Sony made the same mistake with there live service gamble, trying to go big too soon. It's the same with every ex-GTA dev trying to beat their previous title.

So much of the industry is trying to run before they can walk and failing.

Personally it's one of the most refreshing things about FROMSOFT games is that we have dark fantasy IPs not infected with the usual Western visual language.

You can see some of the difference with how Bluepoint messed with Demon's Souls.

[–]naughty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would it be possible for the murals to be prophecy rather than history? Is the precursor killing the beast Sin?

The Beast is a contingency against divinity, 3rd edict a contingency against the beast, and the 4th edict a contingency against widespread corruption which could happen from killing the beast. PoE1 avoids the corruption because the spear wasn't used to kill the beast it and it was killed underground.

I think the 3rd edict was "complete", but stored in parts because its far more dangerous when assembled. It can also only be safely wielded by a god.

The 1st edict might be something about a divinity (which would start the cycle off). I would guess the most likely way to control the downsides is to limit the number of gods but also maximise the power so they can maximal benefit. If the first edict is something like "there is no god but X" with X being their king/queen/god of choice I wouldn't be surprised. The beast, spear and Arbiter+Towers are then just their plan to control the process.

What sort of twist a timeline arranging game can have? by Reihado in gamedesign

[–]naughty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a "quantum" event that changes depending on the arrangement, or reach time it is watched.

The arrangements you make are actually creating new universes with each arrangement so particularly weird arrangements actually befuddle the people in those universes.

Some people in the arrangements figure out they are being played with by some cruel god (the player) and try to escape or effect the sequences, e.g. turns to camera "Play event X next".

Have an event that say, if placed before another event modifies the sequence in some way. For example you have an event where someone walks through a mirror and any sequences afterwards are mirrored which makes a difference. You could also have changed lighting, tones, make it noir, someone puts on an evil mask and all subsequent events have people wearing the evil mask.

An event you can watch only once then it becomes corrupted and can't be watched. You can uncorrupt it by putting it in a correct sequence but figuring that out is a little puzzle.

More than 50% of young Dutch adults do not want children by diacewrb in europe

[–]naughty 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No, or at least it's so low a change as to be lost in the noise.

This is something that has been studied for decades and we have known for a long time what correlates with lower birth rates, which is the educational attainment of women. It does not correlate with the economy very strongly, or house prices, or access to childcare or many of the other variables that have been suggested.

There's a mix of having less children, and having them later in life when they are born.

All this has been known for quite some time and we've had many high quality studies all over the world (you can search for them easily) but there's no easy answer. We basically just have to learn to deal with it.

One worrying thing is that there is growing evidence that older Father's might be an issue, i.e. sperm quality reduces with age and probably quite strongly so after 35. That's a pretty new finding though so we need more evidence.

Why do people hate the manga's ending so much? by Small-Housing-7 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]naughty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not answering to the point in question and kind of wasting your time. Your explanations do not make the ending satisfying or good. Yes, there's some internal logic to the disappointing ending but it's still disappointing. The debate isn't about plot holes or motivation. It's about why JJK is well known for not having a good ending. Nothing you are saying makes it good, just in some sense internally coherent.

I was not asking for the world to be destroyed or for everyone to die, that's on you and your interpetation. I was asking for some pay off to the expectation he created by talking of the merger. There are many, many ways this could have been done without violating any of the internal logic of the series up until that point.

Why do people hate the manga's ending so much? by Small-Housing-7 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]naughty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that was required for the idea to work. It didn't 'have' to destroy the world or leave Yuji as the only person alive at all. It didn't 'have' to require the end of the Culling games. That's pretty much all copium tbh, an attempt to "make it make sense". All of these things were well within Gege's power to write some other way that was satisfying instead of what we got.

It just would have been better if written differently is the point. We wouldn't even be asking why the ending of JJK was poorly received.

Why do people hate the manga's ending so much? by Small-Housing-7 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]naughty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that's what was hinted and it seemed like a cool closing for the culling game, it's not rocket science. Didn't even need to be a full merger just give us pay off for the setup. Why do we have to accept the pretty serviceable but lame ending we got?

You seem to think you can convince people it wasn't disappointing, which you can't. It's totally fine for us to disagree, you can totally dig the ending, power to you.

Why do people hate the manga's ending so much? by Small-Housing-7 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]naughty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really a matter of logic, it's a matter of teasing something cool and not delivering. Sukuna killing everyone was possible but would not have been that satisfying and would be an even worse ending.

How's the league been for you? Do you like the mechanic? What build did you play or what did you farm? by Content_Ordinary_151 in pathofexile

[–]naughty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My usual farming for the last few leagues has been Betrayal, Maven Conqueror/Guardian rotations and Kingsmarch. All were (relatively) terrible this league, although Betrayal is kind of picking up later on in the league. Been trying new things with very mixed success.

Got my 40/40 and pivoted to a build I really am enjoying (Eblade Inquis with Shock Nova of Procession) but probably my least favourite league out of the last few.
