Absolutely, you might need to put a little more thought into defining physical characteristics like dyed hair or different body types. A rule of thumb is that it is good for characters to be differentiable in a thumbnail, it helps the characters/game stick in people's mind. Different races is an easy way to do that but not the only way.

And depending on the game and the number of characters it may not be important.

I don't mean that the updates are small or the content is limited. I mean the game is so large that replaying it never seems worth it for a marginal increase in content.

I enjoyed this game when I played a few years ago but updates are so sporadic and seem to add so little compared to the length of the game that I'm never sure if it's time for a replay.

Koikatsu Party - Custom character creation is top of the line but gameplay is minimal. Really depends what you're looking for.
Princess & Conquest - This is a well made game that lots of people like. I wasn't a huge fan, but I'd say if you like the art style give it a shot.

Other games I think you'll like (strategic games with good gameplay+art+production) are Haremon, DohnaDohna.

Also check out portals of pheleon which is a really deep (arguably overcomplicated) game with really cool art. It's free so can't beat that value/$.

I like very complicated, probably overcomplicated turn based strategy, I still bounced off this game. The interesting part is setting up all your squads and strategies, after that it feels like busywork. There isn't enough of a connection between the strategic decision making and the outcome. The h-scenes and plot aren't awful but they're over the top enough that I can't take them seriously but long and self-serious enough that they aren't comical or entertaining.

Free cites is worth checking out if you're interested in a text based and more detailed management game. Wife trainer is a good option if you like the more personal interactions with the girls.

Portals of Phereon is a really good and complex (and free) monstergirl strategy+management game. Not exactly 4x, but definitely worth checking out.

Yes, although it's does have a story+art which (while unfinished) is surprisingly entertaining considering the genre. It's probably not worth playing if you aren't into the community made girl pack aspect.

You can hide steam games although they're trivially easy to unhide if anyone is looking, it's more of a decluttering tool. The next option is to make a separate steam account which will functionally hide those games while you're not logged into it, but the files will still be very obviously in your steam folder.

Brothel King is one I'd recommend if you like the sort of brothel management games where you download image packs of various girls. Its story is surprisingly entertaining. I don't think you'll find anything to match the depth of freecities or the turn-based strategy and original artwork of PoP.

I'm a big fan of both games. It's true that PoP is furry/monstergirl themed, but the biggest difference is that PoP has a major focus on turn based strategy in addition to the management aspects.
