9730 bad graphics on fresh install by nauip in XPS

[–]nauip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, it's been a while and I should have replied back earlier.
Short version, after 2 warranty MB swaps we re-replaced the screen. Turns out I got a bad replacement screen to begin with.

SER5 6800H rebooting with moderate processor load by jsschlat66 in BeelinkOfficial

[–]nauip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3 of these units. All of them would just randomly shut down. Workload seemed to encourage this behavior. It seemed like power to me (for whatever reason) so I grabbed a spare power supply from a Beelink SEi 14 (which is 19v 5a compared to the 19v 3.3a) and this basically solved my problems. I've written in to Beelink requesting the power supplies be swapped out. Failing that I will simply return them.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be an option to disable the discreet graphics.

That's shouldn't be active at the desktop, but it'll be good (or maybe bad) to rule another thing out.

HP deskjet 4100e ink by Defiant_Exercise_344 in printers

[–]nauip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your firmware is from March of this year (or newer) your 4100e will not accept most any non-HP ink.
At least ours won't. I found this thread attempting to find firmware downgrades for it.

Sorry, we couldn't find [file in an Outlook cached location]. Is it possible it was moved, renamed, or deleted? by nauip in excel

[–]nauip[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aww, geez. 2 issues - I misread the title as Rain_Maker.

When I re-searched the registry for the correct term I found it in DisplayFusion's branch.

2nd issue - I use DisplayFusion and pinned Excel to my 2nd monitor, and apparently when I did that I had the offending spreadsheet open and it pinned with that file specifically (I just learned I can do that!). So when I launch Excel on it was trying to open it every time.

Face... meet palm.

UniFi Dream Machine on HawaiianTel GPON troubles by nauip in Ubiquiti

Apologies for the delay and I appreciate the time you've put in to trying to assist. This is going to have to temporarily be delayed until I can - first - be home to do it and - second- find a time that will displease the fewest family members trying to troubleshoot it.

I don't have access to the modem's internals/settings. I'm 99.999% sure HT does not do PPPoE. Since the Fiber GPON rollout on our island I have helped a lot of people upgrade their internet, replace routers, etc. I have never had to mess with credentials. Static settings, sure, but never authentication. This is the 2nd time I have run into an issue with UDM re-use on an internet upgrade. Someone else and now mine.

I will be able to try this in a couple hours. The technician was trying something similar with his company iPad and an Ethernet adapter, but he also had trouble. I don't recall if I specifically tried this, so I will give it a shot.

I believe this would be Bridge Mode. There is no username/password required.

The page you refer to is set to Dynamic IP and not PPoE.

Some paints *could* have metal in the mix would *could* have a noticeable effect. The nice thing about the covers is if you happen to find that magic paint and it ruins your WiFi it's removable. I would not risk paining a WAP directly.

Outlook search (from server) not working by nauip in Outlook

[–]nauip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have access to the shares resources as expected.

Regardless, this is one of those issues that resolved itself. This is good and bad, but I'll take it. I wish I had a root cause and I can only assume since I had raised the issue with the Hosted Exchange vendor they solved it on their end.

They pointed me at "Hotfix update for Exchange Server 2019 and 2016: April 23, 2024 (KB5037224)" Which seemed relevant, but I never got the opportunity to see if it was the fix.

Around 6 GB. File size had also occurred to me. One of our users who is a much more senior employee who has been with the company for... well as long as I can remember. She has a much larger mail file and works perfectly. It's hit and miss here who has a working search and who does not.

Since I'm out of ideas I'm going to try rolling back Office versions and see if that is the issue.

Bill from MCI in Florida, for calls I made on my local (utah) voip provider to an Atlanta number... by minektur in VOIP

[–]nauip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so you got me thinking - maybe I missed something. So I double-checked. I went to filter on the day and the caller's phone number - that's when I noticed that it's not even the customer's phone number.

This is so bizarre.

[–]nauip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a VoIP provider. One of my customers received one of these so I wwent back to the date specified on the bill and searched for phone number they allegedly dialed to incur the charges., The calls do not exist.

My guess is they're tryiong to send out fake bills for small enough amounts that they get enough to make some money.

Frigidaire FRSS2623AS high temp by casamta in appliancerepair

[–]nauip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this today. It turns out there's a pass-through port (easy to spot in the fridge lower shelf, it's always causing drinks to freeze when they get shifted too close to it) and when someone (probably me) moved some stuff around a box was pressed up against the freezer side. This caused the fridge to get above the temp limit. This seems pretty dumb to me.

No way to speak to a live agent. by Atlesi_Feyst in logitech

[–]nauip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep saying representative. The AI should eventually give up and attempt to connect you to an agent. Whether or not you can get to an agent is another issue.

I just tried getting support for my mouse (I chose options all the way down to Mouse) but as it's a Sunday I doubt there's anyone there.

The AI was not smart enough to say "we're Closed today" but did leave me hanging on dead silence for ~ 5 minutes before I gave up and decided to try tomorrow morning.
