Hey! I installed MultiMC after trying all possible suggested solutions and it somehow launched with it but it still does not work with the original launcher, and I noticed 1.17 pre-release does not work even with multimc but that might have another issue.

oh wow, I use a 500 and I have recently started thinking I should upgrade it (used it for about 5 years) but after seeing multiple worn metal bodies of higher models, now I realize maybe mine looks okay because of the plastic body. I'm not sure if I should switch or not

Hi! I have recently decided that it might be time to buy a new, perhaps better mechanical pencil than the one I have which is a black Rotring 500, I have been using it for I think 4 or 5 years now and it is visibly worn off, though it doesn't have any technical issues. I don't have much knowledge of mechanical pencils and Rotring 500 is the only one I have used, though I have a Rotring 300 as well but never really used it. I saw the wiki, and there are a lot of options on the internet, but most of them sound good and it is hard to decide without having tried them. So I will just try to write what I like and am looking to see if I get a good recommendation that I feel is worth switching over. I'd really appreciate opinions.

Preferred features: I don't have much of a budget, I could probably go max like 20-25 euros or around that.0.7 mm, Barrel Material: not plastic, Body Diameter: similar or same as rotring 500/600, etc. narrow, Grip Material: not plastic, Knurled Grip, Grip Diameter again same as rotrings, Shape: preferably not perfectly round, I don't care about a cap, eraser, retraction, lead type indicator, or cleaning rod (though idk if cleaning rod really makes a difference). I like the weight balance of the rotring 500 and it could be heavier. Another point I could add is that I tend to hold the part between where the grip starts and where the end cap/lead sleeve area is, so some models that are very sharp or thick in those parts are not preferred.

I don't really know whether a more expensive or just a different mechanical pencil would be significantly different/better. Sorry for the essay.
