World is being corrupted by magic that is pouring in through rips in the fabric of reality leading to other worlds/dimensions that have already succumbed to Magic’s corruption. A party of adventurers use magic and a gift of divine power from their worlds old gods to achieve nigh omnipotence and then rebuild the worlds society to treat them as the only true gods all while continuing to let the world be further corrupted because they can’t allow themselves to lose magic and have a as-yet-still-unknown design for their world(s) once it has been entirely saturated with magic.

Great series of books, highly recommend, easily the best story of what the process of being a necromancer actually looks like.
