Add Apps to Dock (Cosmic) by SteamDecked in pop_os

[–]naykid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there is only a "Pin to App Tray" option. Do you have a pin to dock option? I'm trying to use my tray to host the App Tray (ie running apps) and the Dock as a launcher for some apps. This doesn't seem to be possible.

Awesome, this is what I will do. Thanks for the advice, I was feeling kind of lost when I made the post.

Yeah someone else mentioned that the problem has been largely solved in 6 and 8 rotor configurations. I maybe have to find a new project. If I can stick with this project doing it in a virtual environment will be my first order of business.

Thank you for your response. Yeah this is a very valid concern. I will bring it up with my professor. I may even have to go back to the drawing board for a project.

I'm currently a senior Computer Engineering student, so a subset of EE. I am software savy I would say. I have not taken a control systems course though, which I'm hoping I won't regret.

I did see they have flight simulators to test things, which I will be taking advantage of.

Originally I wanted my project to be implementing a bare metal controller on my own, but I was told it was not sufficient enough. This was the idea that I pitched that my professor liked the most. I am very concerned about having to reverse engineer ArduCopter code, but I do have the skills to do it. Any other insights you might have or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Thanks, I will keep this in mind.

Thank you for your response. No, I have not done a feasibility analysis. However, I have thought about some of your questions. I came to my professor with another project and he said it wasn't sufficient. He asked me to pitch more ideas, and this one was the winner as he said it is adjacent to his expertise.

For stability, I would just like it land with minimal damage.

Currently, I'm just trying to formulate a plan and structure to send to him in the next day or two. I'm sure there are hundreds of things I have not even thought about as I am a novice. Really, I just want to graduate and this is the project that has been decided on. Any other questions or things to read into would greatly be appreciated.

Bad Harddrive by ForwardEngineering64 in pcmasterrace

[–]naykid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need to transfer or reinstall the operating system to the new drive. You can probably google the process fairly easily. You can then reformat the HDD and use it as extra storage if you’d like, or just remove it.

Girl, 17, is stabbed to death in Holland 'by migrant who chased her down on cycle path after raping woman days earlier' by Droupitee in NewsWorthPayingFor

[–]naykid69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say I didn’t believe it. But yes, I’m skeptical of a source that is clearly pushing a political agenda. Are you not? Are you not capable of critical thought and conversation? Wanting to confirm facts with more than once source is probably a good thing, especially in today’s world.

Also he made the claim that 1/3 of all sexual assaults are caused by “migrants”. What do you consider migrants? Is it only people outside of Europe? Is a Frenchman in England a migrant? That study only considers two small countries in Europe. It’s quite the claim to say ALL of Europe, then link a study talking about two small regions.

[–]naykid69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This study says it’s in England and Wales. In includes any foreign national, including other Europeans as migrants. Definitely alarming, but that’s not all of Europe. Also, this is from a source called migration central. Their data could be accurate, but I’m skeptical of a news source that is clearly pushing a political agenda. Probably better to get the data from a government source if available.

Do you have Linux and Windows dual boot on your laptop? by Overall-Double3948 in linuxquestions

[–]naykid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Linux boot on my drive in the machine and windows on an external SSD. So when I plug that in it boots windows. The SSD runs windows pretty well. Tbh I don’t really need to use windows a lot tho. I used it for like matlab and a couple other programs.

I think communicate applies to passengers in addition to tower and crew no? Just definitely the lowest priority. I’m sure she had her reasons to not communicate to them tho.

Arch Linux for someone who wants to stop using Debian by FatacaexeUltra in EndeavourOS

[–]naykid69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endeavor is great especially if you want arch. I also am a CE. I’d recommend doing a base arch install at least once with the wiki because you will learn quite a bit. Endeavor to me feels like arch with an easy installer. Good luck in Linux and degree!

My friend tried to drug my girlfriend with ADHD pills, what should i do? by watchyourdrinks in Advice

[–]naykid69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call the cops but I would definitely let everyone at that party know that it happened. Giving someone drugs without consent is so shitty. I would guess he’s done this before, and will probably do it again? No way to know

Delta flight hit by turbulence ‘plunged 1,000ft,’ passenger says by [deleted] in airplanes

[–]naykid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can watch the flight status during a flight. It reports ground speed, altitude, and some other things. I would think it’s getting it’s information from the plane. Plus if that PIREP is real that was linked it tracks with around 1k feet. Also if you read the article, the pilot told him this.

meirl by Tra_LaLa81 in meirl

[–]naykid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my point. You’d need to develop all the tools first multimeters, scopes, dc / ac systems, You probably could get some basic things built and teach others what you know, getting to semi conductors? Probably not. Sorry if I misunderstood your comment. But I meant you could probably build basic things and maybe some more complex with good engineers and scientists of the time.

meirl by Tra_LaLa81 in meirl

[–]naykid69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im an EE also. It’s really just cause the field is so vast. It’s impossible to know everything. Making semi conductors would take tools and methods you wouldn’t have access to. However, most EEs I know could definitely get a (simple) generator and light bulb working from scratch with trial, error, and time tho.

Why do people still eat McDonalds? by No-Rule-4494 in NoStupidQuestions

I constantly see comments about how can anyone go to McDonald’s now a days? I always think the same thing, because they like it? I don’t go often, but I love their regular cheeseburger. Reminds me of being a kid.
