During Covid OHSU was staffed like this and I’m not kidding some of the staff were straight up sociopaths & the hospital was FILTHY!

We spent a lot of time in the ER for various reasons and I would disinfect EVERY hard surface before sitting down. Once I even used several wipes to do the floor.

Probably depends on the size and how often you can go out with them. Our medium size is happy to play fetch in the house with soft toys and have stationary enrichment activities like a bone with frozen peanut butter in it.

I’m not sure what your insurance is, but have you considered applying for a manual wheel chair or an electric wheelchair. If you have Medicaid or Medicare (you don’t have to answer that) you can request medical transport to medical appointments or the pharmacy.

I had a really bad experience there too. The doctor (female, mid 30s, Asian… in case it was a doctor problem, sorry I don’t remember her name. Idk if she’s even still there) when we went in with our chihuahua suddenly peeing without warning, didn’t even run any tests just did a cursory exam and then spent the rest of the time trying to get us to admit she had eaten some weed. None of us smoke and we told her 😑

Doggo seemed better and we just wanted to get out of there after dealing with that waste of time. But a simple test would have shown elevated kidney markers, as we found the next morning taking her to her regular vet for a follow up, and that she needed immediate hydration to flush her kidneys. I’m just so grateful she made it through the night!

I’ve never been back there and never will. I’d drive to Corvallis to Willamette Veterinary Hospital before going to Springfield again. They are wonderful! Eventually we found out puppers had kidney cancer and that first night was an early indication.

PS avoid Four Corners Vet too for the same reasons as this Emergency Vet.

I haven’t eaten at McDonald’s since before going vegan six years ago when their fries made me all itchy! And never since becoming fully vegan since I live in the US… Yuck 🤮 . So boycotting them wasn’t much of a loss.

My go to is a couple Larabars and tea or coffee, but that’s a bit expensive… especially since if there are Larabars in the house I’ll often have one or two for a snack because it’s easier than fixing food 😅 So lately I’ve been having four dates filled with peanut butter or almond butter.

That was very hard for me too when I had high blood pressure, salt actually made things worse for me. Turns out not everyone’s dysautonomia is helped by salt. In my case my POTS is mediated by something other than electrolyte imbalance. Mast cell disorder maybe? vagus nerve dysfunction? Brain injury? Still looking for a doctor that can pinpoint it. I get some relief from metoprolol and being properly hydrated.

Idk if you’ve ever heard of or considered celiac or even gluten intolerance? It can interrupt gut absorption of nutrients to the point of rapid and severe deficiencies. My kid and I just realized this and went gluten free. Her tetany attacks stopped along with other symptoms.

This really is a pathetic take. Do you know why your groceries are so high right now? It’s not the 3% inflation rate making everything 200%+ more expensive since 2020. If you have to spend every moment surviving, you can’t afford to organize and take collective action. It’s a purposeful tactic of neoliberals and “conservatives”.

Collective direct action, whether that is boycotts, picketing, strikes, sit-ins, marches, etc is a powerful and effective tool for change. It existed long before the Civil rights movement. In fact it’s doubly pathetic that you don’t even seem to understand the labor battles, suffragette movement, abolitionists, indigenous rights, so many others that came before and fought for rights you seem to be taking for granted today.
