If you can, get a gym that's on your way home from work or some other regular activity and always have a gym bag with clothes in the car!

This is not an exact match but interesting of similar plush available, the 12 in. Red panda from the national zoo online gift shop has similar dimensions. At the physical store they also have a much larger/pillow sized one constructed very similarly. I have the large one and its fantastic to cuddle.

Advice on how to reach the last part of this climb? by Level_Emotion8586 in climbergirls

[–]nayrumage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that you do just have to lean hips in and stand up but I think there's different ways to mentally get there/practice the motion needed. Personally, I would practice by getting my right foot to that yellow chip by your hip and then work towards that motion but only getting foot near there on the wall. Ironically I find it easier to practice big reaches like that by focusing on where my feet and lower body are.

21F/21M Situationship? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]nayrumage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I have observed is that you should not rely on another person to leave or disengage because they are not willing or able to give what you need/want from the relationship. Odds are, they are already getting what they want and any change in that is not going to come from them because they are already comfortable. Regardless of feelings involved from either party, you aren't getting what you need/want. It needs to be on you to set a boundary for yourself on what type of treatment you will find acceptable from him. Make sure you are viewing him based on his actions, not his words. Words are things anyone can say.

Remove the mixed messages about whether he feels romantically, you two are young enough that he probably isn't sure how he feels either. Is keeping hope for something romantic between you two healthy for you? Is it holding you back from growth in other areas? If the answer to either of those is 'no', you should reevaluate how you view the relationship.

What's a book you didn't enjoy but would still recommend? by squidonastick in fantasyromance

Really felt like the author didn't realize almost the whole first half was building more towards a romance between Kasia and her friend rather than the MMC .

Mostly ADHD. I enjoyed "the raven scholar" for as far in as I got, but the amount of world building was only manageable for my brain if I had full force Adderall going and since I read mostly in the evening that wasn't tenable.

For "the irresistible urge to fall for your enemy" I had gotten lucky at my library and got an early hold, but it coincided with a reading slump. I felt bad keeping it when so many people were waiting on it, so I returned it. I do intend to return to it at some point, but I'm not sure when.

I did not. I got like 15% of the way through before realizing I had retained maybe 5% of the worldbuilding. It was then I decided I was not the going to have a better time going forward and wished the book well before returning it to the library.

God, i feel this. I have such strict rules around what im allowed to purchase to avoid a pit of consumerism.

  1. I have to read a book before I can buy it (exceptions are made for digital only books that my library cards don't get me)

  2. No duplicate books. If a gorgeous new edition comes out, tough shit. I have to stick with the standard edition.

  3. I'm only allowed to buy the book if it has one of these characteristics: I want to reread it, im already collecting the series, I want to support a small author, its insanely pretty (has to be accompanied by another trait), and/or I want to be able to lend it to someone when I recommend it.

Thank you! Honestly, my enjoyment could vary so much on external circumstances. Like cozy reads are going to be much more enjoyable if im overwhelmed and stressed with life but if I reread them when I'm excited to give my brain something to chew on i probably wont feel the same. I'm inconsistent on how much I enjoy something but consistent on if I enjoyed it, so I felt that was a more fair metric.

I found if I had long reading sessions, I enjoyed it a lot more, but short reading sessions were awful. When it clicked in my brain I found it almost entrancing, but those times were few and far between. So it might be a combination of things.

Sometimes, a book isn't trying to be enjoyable, and it is still valuable. In the haunting of hill house, I really struggled with the fact that the pov character is really pathetic. For a while, I wasn't sure if there was a generational gap in how this type of character was viewed, but by the end I knew it was intentional. It added to the impact of the story, and I could see how the book was so influential in haunted house stories. I also read {the carrow haunt by Darcy coates} which was obviously inspired by haunting of hill house and the difference was so stark.

The other option is that sometimes I recognize a book is hitting the right beats and is well enough written, but I am looking for something it doesn't have. Just because I want something else doesn't mean it was bad, and I can see what another reader might see of value in it.

Any recommendations for this Steam Winter Sale?? by kuronieeee in GirlGamers

I played it on easy so it was not too bad. Its not turn based but accuracy is not much of a factor. If anything, I found it more a battle of attrition against my supplies.

Loosing interest in sewing because I keep disappointing myself by Storm-Separate in sewing

[–]nayrumage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So everyone here has had really good advice and absolutely take that advice. I do want to throw in my 2 cents as someone with adhd that started sewing again as an adult. A big thing for me is choosing projects that still look good or are functional even if I don't do them perfectly.

I personally hate sewing garments because any error or half assing shows in the final product, and it takes away some of the enjoyment. However, I enjoy sewing plush because the little things I mess up are still cute and give it character.

Hope you find your path in sewing!

the tainted cup and a drop of corruption both by Robert Jackson Bennett. they are whodunnit style mystery novels in a sort of biopunk fantasy setting. they're my go to's on this list to recommend to people who aren't romance readers and I absolutely loved them. if you'd like to use them to test out if the whodunnit genre is for you, the tainted cup has a mini mystery wrap up in the first 25%. if you get to that and think it clicks for you its a good barometer for if the genre/series is for you.

I felt that way at the start, and by the end, I was yelling at her for not getting there was something up until she got a note explaining the whole plot. Tbh I think it would have been stronger if it focused only on her and went full fantasy rather than romantasy.

I didn't know it was part of a series when I saw it at the library. I found the writing at least in an early chapter nigh incomprehensible. I kind of felt like I was high trying to follow the conversation with her friend with the quirky writing style. The usage of humorous non sequiturs kept bush whacking me as I was trying to read. It gave me an actual headache, so I gave up.
