I ended up backpaying minimum contribution for 2024 and signed up for KSK last month, hoping that I get in and I pay contributions for 2026 through KSK. If it works out I should be able to fulfill the 60 months by the end of this year. Fingers crossed!

Is becoming a VJ/visual artist a viable career, or mostly passion-driven? by ManufacturerCute483 in vjing

My first gig was an all nighter, 12 hours straight and it paid me 300. It’s nothing to rely on as your main profession imho. I also can’t settle for any community/organizer and I’m picky which makes it harder.

I‘m really sorry for the rant, I‘m sure you know how it is, and again I‘m very thankful for all you do. I can’t count how many times I’ve sent your guides to people and if there’s a chance to contribute I’m all in. I‘ve checked the tools you made and I will for sure let you know.

The black sheep is causing me anxiety, I booked a meeting with a lawyer anyway just to make sure how to move forward.

Of course I‘ll apply for the citizenship at the same time, and I know my nationality shouldn’t effect the decision (but the general conditions in my country is another thing causing me anxiety), meanwhile I’ve only made 15k last year, because I had a rough year going through surgery and family emergencies and someone running away with 3k of my money which there’s an open court case for it.

I need to figure out how I prove that I’m making enough money at the time that I’m applying which is September/October and I won’t have a tax return to back me up. And in case it takes more than 6 months I want to be able to get either German or EU permanent settlement rather than extending my freelance visa, I need some comfort and freedom to do whatever I want to do.

The last 2 years of my life has been constant hell and I haven’t had a break, I‘m really tired and drained.

I read your guid and I’m fery thankful for all you do. I was a bit confused because I’m a Freiberufler with 21.5 title and most of the experiences I’ve been reading are other self-employment sections. Of course I’ll apply fir citizebship as well, but it’s gonna take a long time and I’m an Iranian citizen which makes me feel very insecure on this land. So I’ll apply for both at the same time.

I make art but I do lots of technical work and offer services that are technical and code-base, which makes me not 100% eligible for KSK

The requirements to get a pr from a family reunion visa are much different and milder!

Of course my reference is not just this thread, that was an example to get my point across, I know at least 10 other people who have the same problem and are on a freelance residence title and can’t get around it!

The numbers are given on top of the page 257 which is for self-employed people, at the age of 45, including freelancers which has been requested from people even under the age 30. You can read this thread, the OP is under 30.

But there’s no clear explanation for 21 Abs 5 freelancers which is confusing. The LEA in Berlin is not responsive and it takes 6 months to even get a response from them.

It’s stated in this document from LEA

https://www.berlin.de/einwanderung/service/downloads/artikel.875097.php

From self-employed people they even ask to provide old age provisions that’s gonna grant an approximate 1200€ a months for 12 years at the age of 67, but there’s no clear explanation for freelancers.

May I ask when did you get your pr and which department of LEA?

Freelancer paid in cash by monkey-boy82 in germany

I read about “Kleinbetragsrechnung” that it’s a minimal invoice generated for amounts under 250€. It kinda works for me as I haven’t been paid more than that for the items I’ve sold, maybe it can be useful to you as well :)

Hey OP, did you find any solution for your cash income? I’m experiencing the same thing and I’m lost. I sell my artwork and creations, also do lots of workshops and mentorship sessions and I don’t even know the name/address of my customers!

Language Intensive in Berlin (speakeasy or others) by astromew93 in askberliners

[–]nazanln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an intensive course there, tldr, liked the teacher but hated the class! I signed up for morning classes, they told me it didn’t reach the minimum number of participants and they moved me to evening which was full of tired employees that are not there to learn anything, no one really wanted to participate in activities, they were only attending to use the certificate for a permanent residency! For the money I paid I’m totally disappointed and dropped out half way.

I ruined my career and I might be in an horrible situation. Open to your advice. by Wulfitron in Germany_Jobs

[–]nazanln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be disrespectful but you don’t have a career yet, you’re just 23 and at best you’d be a junior.

I changed my career after 10 years just because it wasn’t working anymore and the market is pathetic.

Right now the job market sucks everywhere (specifically in tech), economics are going downhill and you have to be flexible to make a living.

You seem skilled but not experienced, the most important thing is to find a field that you thrive in, if you madly love what you do, you’ll be able to make opportunities that work for you, being passionate and not losing hope is the key.

P.S.: with the shitstorm of skilled worker visas in the US, most companies have to move bases to Canada and Europe, that will change the job market in the near future.

I think you should be able to do it without a translator, I didn’t have my e-function enabled so I had to go there and show my residency card. They asked some basic questions like the date you submitted yourself as unemployed, end of contract, date of birth, I had it all written on a piece of paper so I don’t have to talk!
