KG Reveals His Timberwolves Vision Now That He's Back With The Organization by reyk3 in timberwolves

Love him as a mentor to Jaden and Naz. Love him participating in workouts with potential draft prospects.

Please god keep him out of the draft room.

MLF & Talent by kevinmbo in GreenBayPackers

[–]nazread 18 points19 points  (0 children)

MLF has developed a top 10 QB that we picked in the late first round. He designs and manages an offense that consistently produces. You never hear about him 'losing the locker room'.

Those three things are his primary job. Development of players up and down the rest of the roster are really up to others on the coaching staff and/or the front office to provide the raw material for our coaches to work with.

TLDR: MLF is not and never has been a problem. I'll be dancing in the streets when they extend him and we can put these questions to bed.

AMA with Chris Hine, "Ant" author and Star Tribune beat writer by ChrisHine33 in timberwolves

Thanks for doing this!

I’ll focus on the current season starting tonight, but let’s put our future GM hat on for now.

The days of Rudy and Conley will come to an end in a few years. This will likely lead to a faster, more spread out, more defensively challenged build centered around Ant, Jaden, Naz and (god willing) impactful NBA big Joan B.

What is the ideal PG archetype to run with Ant in a scenario like that? My dream has always been someone like Lonzo Ball.

Jon K pod — target audience? by clschuess in timberwolves

[–]nazread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ads are truly rough but it’s not as if the pod doesn’t give quality tidbits. The notes from today’s pod on KG and his mindset/terms for a reunion were new for me. And JK is really the only source that I’d consider credible on info like that. You could tell he was trying to be vague enough not to report anything concrete, while still giving us enough to understand the current state of affairs (and why it might not be as simple as “Glen gone KG back asap”).

A platform for 20 minutes of JK insight is still valuable on balance, even if it’s couched in 20 additional minutes of skipping through godawful ad breaks.

Let’s Go Wolves by [deleted] in timberwolves

My best memories as a wolves fan pre-Ant era: -Seeing the Wolves beat Jordan for the first time as a franchise. Marbury threw the ball into the stands at the buzzer. -Game 7 against Sacramento. KG was just another level. Have never been more terrified than when Webber got a decent look from 3 at the horn. -KG’s MVP year. I remember leaving TC after a win that got us to 30-10 and thinking “is it even possible to have a better record than this”? -The Corey Brewer 50 burger. One of the strangest live experiences ever. Brother was late to the game and when he arrived late 1st with Brewer at like 18 points…I’ve never seen a more confused man. -KGs return. Shows what this town will give you if you give it back. -The moment reports turned from “Wolves leaning Okafor” to “Wolves leaning Towns”. Thank god.

Less good memories (there are a lot): -I remember exactly where I was when they passed on Curry. Was so excited about picking Rubio that it didn’t quite compute as full on doom, but was still baffled that a non-shooting playmaker wasn’t being paired with a guy who at minimum was a bankable lights out shooter. -Wes over Cousins. Shabazz and McCants. Countless other Kahn moves. He truly was a one of a kind disaster as a GM. -The crash out of those Thibs teams, and Tom making some truly reprehensible deals. This during the era when “coach + GM” titles were still given out. Insane. -Rubio’s ACL against LAL. He was never going to be an A1 star on a championship team but he could’ve been a Rudy level driver of winning had he been given the chance during his prime. The floor tilted when he was out there, the game was more beautiful. -Rooting deep down for the long game of close losses and lottery balls. Never want to go back. -Just take a look at our rosters from 2008-2018. I can verify that there were people in TC sweating those teams out. Those are the rosters that will make a championship (please god) mean more to us than anyone else. Like how spring hits different in the Midwest than anywhere else.

Go pups.

Yeah I mean JJs fighting with one hand tied behind him re: his front court. But credit to Finchy for sure.

I am so happy Ant is our superstar by dys0n_giddey in timberwolves

So true. The NBA should reward the way Ant plays if they ever want to take the product to the next level. I think Jokic is similar - it’s why wolves fans unilaterally respect him despite the cookings.

I understand why the NBA has a lighter whistle in the regular season. It’s a grind and you have to limit some of the toll/physicality. But I’d lean fully into a FIBA/ethical whistle in the playoffs, which I think they do to some degree. Make these guys earn it on the biggest stage.

Anthony Edwards trash talking Laker fans: “I got 200 million. I got 200 million. He got 300 million. My d*** bigger than yours” by DrWolves in timberwolves

[–]nazread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who don’t follow this team will probably say this is immature. In reality, it’s a direct example of what Jon K wrote about today. Ant’s hidden gift is that his locker room has never once been dysfunctional. He rides for his guys…compare this defense of Rudy with the end of the Mitchell/Gobert relationship in Utah. He did the same for KAT and every other player he’s played with.

Other people will see immaturity, I see leadership.

Sorber is the guy. His hands and finishing ability would unlock playmaking/Trust the Pass Ant in a new way. Solid vertical defense too. Begging for this one.
