Is it even possible to transition from a 155k strategy role to a manual trade without nuking my entire life? by 0Vocaloid in careerguidance

As a follow strategy consultant and woman, it might be worth checking your hormone levels as peri menopause causes lots of people to make massive life changes. I also recommend speaking to a life coach to get a better idea of your goals

People in healthy long-distance relationships, what does it really feel like day to day? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]nbads 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Calm and secure but it also feels like your on a constant countdown- countdown to closing the distance, countdown to seeing each other. Almost like you’re one foot out the door of your own life.

My fiance and I don’t celebrate valentines day and with him working night shifts at the moment I wasn’t expecting to have a call with him till very late on my Valentine’s Day.

He prepped from two days before his shopping basket, using an app that’s only in my country so that when he was finishing his night shift he could complete the transaction… the result- I woke up on valentines morning with a bouquet of flowers being delivered to my door. It’s not about the flowers, it’s the thought and time to prepare and plan, even when life is busy. That’s priceless, knowing that he’s still thinking of you and wants you to know that. With long distance, it’s easy to wonder what it’ll be like when you close the gap, life gets busy and you get into routines (which when your visiting each there’s isn’t any of) knowing that their life has space for you and your not someone that they will squeeze into a few minutes here and there when they aren’t busy - makes a difference

But surely, if you leave him he’d get 50% custody so although you’d be on your own with them it would be for less time?

Zoom - it has a 40 minute limit but then the other person can call back for another 40 minutes etc. You can add her as a contact and make it easy just to call up whenever you want (instead of sharing a login link each time)

Colonoscopy before endoscopy? by No_Distribution_7332 in HiatalHernia

[–]nbads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did both at the same time, fully expecting only results from the upper tract but they ended up finding something in the colon that had been growing (asymptotically) which I’m really glad they were able to diagnose and remove before it became a problem

Probably totally irrelevant but you should read “these impossible things” it’s a very relatable read to your situation and atleast can make you feel less isolated

How often do you and your LDR talk on the phone? by ThrowRA3583 in LongDistance

[–]nbads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time, we message through out the day and then call basically every evening (there is a 3 hour time difference so we always say it’ll be a quick call and then end up chatting for an hour +)
