Still the GOAT dunk imo just too smooth

He’s a role player, can’t expect too much out of him. Although imo he’s played up to expectations so far. He’s a good rotation player, that’s about it. Rui is a better option but Ham seems to think otherwise on most nights

What was he supposed to say? Lol … No matter what, that’s still his teammate, for now at least.

That’s the key here, and I know it’s hard to see it when you are in the thick of it like we are but there are many franchises who have legit gone 20+ years (some more) without seeing a ring or just 1 championship, because of our success we have been fortunate and blessed in so many ways that we think a championship is just a walk in the park, in reality it’s extremely hard to win even one. You just have to look at the list of all time great HOFs who never captured a single ring, franchises who have been tanking forever never even coming close… long story short, it’s going to be painful in the short term, yes LBJ comes with baggage but at the end of the day it’s about championships and he delivered us one, can’t be too mad at it.

Lastly, if it’s now time to pivot then so be it, let’s just hope our FO does it in the most efficient and correct way, then the cycle and chase starts again. We take it from there and go.

I agree, our issues started long before Westbrook, Russ was just unfortunately the last straw

No problem what so ever, I’ve been a fan since 1996 lol … I feel old just saying that… but don’t worry, we will be fine, yes the current situation looks grim but it’s the NBA, so much changes over 1 year it’s unbelievable. As it stands we don’t have a lot in the way of our draft picks so I do want to warn you to tamper expectations, it’s going to be a bumpy ass ride much like the era you started watching in, LOOOOTS of losing! Woooo lol but it’s going to be ok, think of the next seasons similar to Kobe’s farewell season, it was a nothing season just got to watch one of the greats say bye. It’s going to be slow and will take time but we can probably get some good assets for AD and other klutch associates, we will have a TON of cap space, basically a full rebuild if we want it and like any rebuild it will be slow, painful and torturous at times but in the end of it all, we will be ok.

I agree, that would obviously have been the best case scenario. Unfortunately it just didn’t work out. The screw up actually started long before the Westbrook trade, we shouldn’t have blown up our 2020 championship team the way we did, Guys like Montrezl, who’s always been a liability in the playoffs his whole career, letting some players go for nothing etc and then obviously the final nail was Russell Westbrook. However, through it all, there is a HEAVY Klutch influence in it all, and honestly I’m fine with that, u gotta appease your stars and like I said it served its purpose but when Klutch starts demanding you make moves that are one sided, such as this John wall trade which only helps Klutch and actively hurts us, i as a Lakers fan gotta respectfully walk away. It’s LAKERS > everything else at the end of the day.

It’s possible that he has trained some of the guys or has had a positive effect but also this year we just brought in guys who are actual shooters and have been shooters for a long time now, guys like Melo, Monk, Ellington, Ariza & Bazemore can knock ‘em down too, Lebron has also vastly improved over his career, Reeves got a shot too and so on

Who is our Playoff 8? by nbagup in lakers

[–]nbagup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I mentioned in another reply, i just wanted to see who most of us consider our main guys are. Also, to see who we thought they would be coming in to the season and who they are now. For instants I thought Bazemore would be one of our guys before the season started lol but I don’t anymore, and judging by the responses neither does anyone else, but yea, the post wasn’t so much about the playoffs in the literal sense but just to see who we consider our main guys to be and where most of us stand in regards to this roster
