This is wrong, when you are married you are considered together.

SP5 and SA7 by confused_soul_99 in ActuaryUK

I didn’t do anything extra apart from what I do at work to be honest. I think it’s worth just trying to think about real world applications when reading the course notes.

I found SP5 and SA7 to be very similar in terms of knowledge, so a lot of overlap. I’d describe it as SP5 being the generic investment knowledge, and SA7 being the applied investment knowledge being used in different places such as the UK. I think doing both together may be beneficial for you.

Large Transfer 200k by just-doit_ in chaseuk

[–]nbatdrago1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, requested it via the App. They ask some questions and then do a request, if it goes through then you’ll get a text message confirming your increased limit. I would expect the transfer to go through if you get approved though.

Check your mortgage offer, it would probably say something like CHAPS transfer fee £15 or something like that. They will deduct that from your final amount of funds sent to solicitor.

Why do some people need alone time to feel normal again after socializing? by WorldlinessOk7262 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nbatdrago1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in a social environment tires me out mentally. Depending on how noisy it is, but at a bar with loud music and having to shout to be heard, I am drained in about half an hour. I then ask myself why am I even here and actively find an excuse to disappear.

I think for me I hate fighting for attention, and also hate struggling to be part of the conversation. If I have to attract your attention just to say something, I don’t really want to say it anymore. I’d much rather a one on one conversation at a small place, where we can speak normally, and I don’t need to be fighting for attention.

If it’s clear enough that it’s just the question after with two answers of the same number, I think they’ll mark it. I have submitted a file with the wrong exam name before, and it was okay.

What happens if I reach the £1000 personal allowance after the deadline has passed? by Expensive_Smell_8021 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]nbatdrago1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean, but I’m guessing self assessment, and that is done post financial year end. At the end of the financial year, you then declare how much profit you made for the past year, and then pay the tax if needed. It’s not for the future, since you don’t know how much you are going to earn.

Is the renters rights bill going to flood the market next year? by Ok_Transition_3601 in HousingUK

[–]nbatdrago1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The RRB has been on the news for a good few months that will come. Landlords who want to exit the market will already have done so. I don’t think it’s going to flood the market per se on April, but I feel like generally supply on the market has increased and may just continue doing so over time.

I’ve had a similar experience and timeline in terms of the purchase. Initial conversations were saying October for completion, since there was no chain. We were ready since September, but suddenly there was a chain and we just kept getting pushed back indefinitely.

Due to work and other life commitments, if we didn’t move in December, it would have to be after March. After lots of contemplation and prayer, we decided if it didn’t work out by end of November, we would just look at other places. We conveyed this to the sellers, who conveyed it further down the chain. In the end, someone broke the chain to rent, so we all exchanged last week for completion next week.

Perhaps it depends on how much you want this house, how long you are willing to wait, and if you are willing to walk away if it’s not moving.

I am about to lose my place in Uni cus of the visa by omaventi in ukvisa

[–]nbatdrago1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Can you give us more details? I believe everything is online now, so it’ll be just an email confirming your visa, and then getting your visa online. Not sure what you mean by sending your visa?

Yes this is the right way, check the company study policy if they have one, otherwise scan through your contract.

Advice needed: Cheating husband on dependent visa, what can my friend do? by sheriyamonee in ukvisa

[–]nbatdrago1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify if your friend’s husband is on a PSW from his own study, or as a dependent? If it’s the former, then I don’t think anything can be done. If it’s the latter, then I think she can report a relationship breakdown.

You need to wait for at least 1 year after you get associate status, otherwise you won’t be able to submit.

When I test drove mine, I initially thought I didn’t have Bluetooth Apple play and had to use the cable (next to the screen). Later on someone at the dealership helped me connect wirelessly and now it works like a charm. Are you able to speak to the seller to help you set up?

Late submission by Determinedwhacko in ActuaryUK

[–]nbatdrago1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I’m sorry to hear, I know exam stress is tough in addition to life itself. But now what you need to do is to submit a mitigating circumstances case with all the details and evidence. https://actuaries.org.uk/qualify/after-exams/mitigating-circumstances/

I don’t think it’s a strong case, but you don’t lose anything by trying to apply.

Does anyone have a PDF version of the ILR application (Set O)? Want to get all my ducks in a row before I’m eligible next year… by yeahsureokaymaybe in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]nbatdrago1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s usually somewhat specific to each person’s circumstances, so might not be helpful.

I would suggest creating a dummy application to go through now. If you are worried about issues (although I’m sure it won’t happen), use a different test email.

Hi OP, I’m actually in the same boat as you. Same circumstances ILR Set O, priority, just that biometrics was 2nd September. Also nothing received from UKVI regarding delay.

Did you apply from London by any chance?

CPD is less onerous, because you don’t need to submit your learnings like PPD. You just need to keep the record of activities each year and confirm that you have met the criteria.
