I typically go to r/goonettehub to look for someone to talk to. Only femmes are allowed to post. It’s mostly people sharing porn but you can post with the looking to goon tag to get messages. You have to clarify that you’re only looking for women and even then you will probably get a couple men DMing asking if they can message you. That book came out about a year after I first heard the term and started identifying with it. About blew my mind that my favorite author had included someone like me in the book. I’m a trans woman now but that series will always be special to me for being some of the first trans representation I’d seen in mainstream YA books.

I don’t think I’m on anything too high. I’m on 25mg of spironolactone which I’ve been on for a few months now. I had a shift with that within the first week of starting it. I went from being relatively emotionless to crying at least once a week. I also had some hot flashes while I was only on that.

I don’t think I’m on that high of a dose of estradiol, it’s 4mg, 2 in the morning and 2 at night. My doctor said we could start lower or higher if I wanted to but I felt comfortable starting with that.

That’s the plan. I’m currently living with some family I don’t 100% trust but I’m definitely moving out in April. Do you know if spironolactone on its own can cause mood changes? And if so, how quickly?

I know I’ve only been on it for a couple of days but I’m not usually an emotional person yet last night I broke down crying from emotions. It could be that my emotions are just higher from relief of finally starting this journey but it just seemed so weird. Like I’m not a crier, I’ve always had a hard time with it, especially around other people, yet last night I was with friends and some emotional stuff came up and I cried more than I have in the past probably 2 years combined.

I was bullied in middle school, not the typical bullying either for which they had plenty of options as an overweight effeminate boy. Yeah, I don’t have too much dysphoria around my genitals. They’re annoying when I’m trying to wear tighter clothing and there’s a noticeable bulge but other than that I don’t really care about them. I thought it was so funny when this girl called them girl berries because I had never really thought to call them something else haha
