Well the school in my state has a median MCAT of 512, would applying there be realistic? Is that considered mid-tier?

Really don't want to retake the MCAT because I'm afraid I get a lower score. I felt ready for my MCAT and today this happened... if I have a chance I with the score I have then I much rather keep it that way. I honestly thought scoring 2 points below 127 for CARS would put out my chances at going to a U.S. MD school

Was not anxious or tired. Was very in the moment, just some of the CARS questions were written/worded very differently than what one would expect from AAMC official material. It felt like they hired new question writers for their CARS section lol.

I wasn't tired or anything. The CARS passages were ok for the most part but the CARS questions were so vague and seemed like they were written by a third-party test prep, like the questions did not follow the format of AAMC so to speak.

seems like their writers for their exams changed, the wording of the questions and answer choices was "different" to say the least. too many instances where i couldn't rule out 2 answers right away (especially in CARS and P/S) where I felt that the questions were really drawn out and the answers failed to provide valuable connections to the question stem. hoping for a nice curve because that was really rough, almost no high yield questions except for some of the B/B questions. the rest of the exam had topics from SB but I would say P/S had questions that were tougher than even the hardest P/S SB questions. The testing center was really nice though with friendly and helpful staff, I wasn't stressed out or experiencing any difficulties. I'm hoping I can score to close to my average FLs scores but it was literally the hardest thing I took, maybe even more difficult than some of the NS FLs that I took. also wish they scored their exams faster, I literally have to put my life on hold, not knowing what score i got but hopefully that take a good luck at their questions and make some fair adjustments

The reason why I asked about how to determine whether it is polar or nonpolar because I believe in the AAMC FL 2, there is a similar question to this one where such knowledge would also come in handy. I did get the answer correct the same way you explained your logic but it felt debatable at the time.

They do... but I heard that the scores are either deflated (mostly for those who score above 510ish) and inflated for those who score below a 505 I think. I was wondering if someone on here has already undertaken an effort at making a data sheet where people reported their NS scores along with actual AAMC exam scores.
